Stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night on the way back to Hobart at the end of my trip in Tasmania. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. The room was comfortable and had a fabulous view. Breakfast there was fresh fruits sliced , yogurt , homemade bread and jams and a selection of cereals. Parking on site. There is a... More

This will have been the 8th year I've stayed at Explorer's Lodge, so Liz and Nigel are friends now! This trip I needed a 1-night stop-over to and from a 3-night stay in Tarraleah, and asked for Unit 1 on the ground floor for convenience. I have stayed in every one of the rooms over the years, as well as... More

As weary travellers we had a welcoming and friendly introduction from the hostess. There is plenty of space for relaxation - you are not confined to a bedroom as the lounge and sunroom are available for guests - not to mention a large garden for warmer days. We took great delight in getting to know the hosts Nigel and Liz... More

My 14 year old son and I stayed here for a few nights in April. We loved the place and found the hosts very friendly and helpful. The house was gorgeous and the beds comfortable. Delicious breakfast too with homemade jam and bread. Great location in a picturesque town. Will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here on our travels through Tassie and found it to be very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb with homemade bread and black currant jam. We would highly recommend this B&B

After travelling all day from Northern NSW to commence a holiday in Tasmania, Explorers Lodge was the perfect experience of hospitality and comfort for our first night in Tasmania. A beautiful room, with a view of the glorious and bountiful garden, exceptional bedding for a wonderful nights sleep and a tasty breakfast of Tasmanian and local produce. The home baked bread... Explorers Lodge was a happy surprise. We spent 3 nights and the service of Liz and Nigel is outstanding. They take the time to ensure each guest's needs are catered for. Our room was small but quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was beautiful - everything is local and fresh. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Truly a home away from home. Very comfortable accommodation with warm and friendly hosts. From the moment we arrived we were we were made to feel welcome by Liz and Nigel. The breakfast was excellent and set in a beautiful light filled room. This was by far the best accommodation we experienced in our eight days travelling throughout Tasmania.

We stayed only one night at the Explorers Lodge after a long 4 hr drive from the West Coast, the hosts were very welcoming, I msg ahead to say we were running late and would not arrive until 8pm but that was not a problem. The rooms were spacious enough slightly dated but clean and nicely presented, we stayed in... More
