Booked this accomodation due to its location as my husband and i were taking a few days to travel round tasmania. A little intimidating on arrival but only because we were probably the only tourists in a big group of fishermen but there was a warm welcome and the staff were friendly. The food was really good! There was quite... More

This is in the Central Highlands. The middle of Tasmania, the middle of nowhere if you are a tourist. Or the middle of fishing heaven if you hunt trout. The accommodation here is basic. The three star rating generous when compared to city accommodation but who cares? This is the only place to stay up here (there is the pub... More

On our second trip to Tasmania we decided to spend a day in Mienna just to see what was there. That was our big mistake. We should have stayed for a week. Never having experienced snow (from W.A.) we were delighted to be caught in a heavy snow fall so much so that we had to leave the way we... More

My son and me stayed in this lodge during a 4 day fishing trip to the Central Highland Lakes. The lodge overlooks the Great Lake and is a perfect base for fishing in this spectacular part of Tasmania. There is precious little in the way of accommodation other than cabins in this area, so if you like to have a... More

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this place. The nice timber huts are very clean and contain a fridge and very basic "cooking" facilities - enough for breakfast and tea. The restaurant in the hotel is rustic but lovely. There was always a good vibe, many locals and really good food. What is special about this place is the atmosphere... More

We stayed here as a family of 4 in January in one of the family units, so that some of the family could fish. The family unit was small and quite basic but comfortable, clean and perfectly adequate for us to spend one night. There were 2 rooms plus a bathroom. Main room included a lounge, table and chairs and... More

Needed to travel to the central highlands to visit a sick relative and decided to stay overnight at this lodge. This is in the lovely, cold and beautiful town of Miena. The lodge itself is really a motel with individual small units and easy access to the main lounge and restaurant area. The units are warm (floor heating) with extra... More

We had a great stay! We arrived at 7pm with young children, ordered excellent pizza (and red wine) from the restaurant and had a fabulous nights sleep. Noone is there in the mornings to provide breakfast, but there was a toaster, kettle and fridge in the room. The following night we ate in the restaurant. Ours were the only kids... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this nice hotel, which is situated in a scenic area with lake views from just outside our room. The room was very clean. It wasn't big, but was comfortable, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen area, and bathroom. We stayed with our young baby, and it may be that it would be too small for a... More

Despite having booked and paid for a cabin over 3 weeks earlier and having received confirmation of this booking the cabin was occupied by another party when I arrived. The manager did not give an explanation as to why this was so, I was gruffly told that I was to occupy a single room and would be compensated for the... More
