We stayed for just one night recently. We found the cottages to be in immaculate presentation. Everything was perfect from the wood supplied to light the fire, instructions on how to operate the fire, home grown breakfast, roomy comfortable and warm. Everything has been thought of here. Watch as the sun goes down and the wallaby come out to graze.... More

As described in the Heron’s Rise webpage: “Herons Rise Vineyard is a family owned vineyard, with holiday cottages and superb views across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island, on the slopes above the Kettering village.” The vineyard is located on a large treed property with neat lawns and gardens and offers a very relaxing and quiet location for a stay.... We had booked this on somebody's recommendation. It is run by Sue and Gerry who both work elsewhere. You could end up staying there without seeing either of them but it is probably unlikely. It was a purpose built attractive cottage with open plan kitchen lounge and bedroom and separate bathroom of course. There was a note for us when... More

Idyllic doesn't do it justice. A beautiful setting, tranquil, service second to none, delicious Pinot Noir and then there's the freshly baked bread every morning...what more can I say. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Even if you can only stay for a night, it's well worth making the trip. I look forward to going back again as soon... More

We stayed in the Studio cottage. It was a beautifully designed room with lovely wood fittings and a very relaxing ambience. The owner was very friendly and the house wine was delicious. We would gladly stay again if we happen to be in Tasmania as the location was great, good access to the Huon valley as well as Hobart and... More

The loft has two bedrooms and is thoughtfully set up with a well equipped kitchen and functional furniture. There is a nice outdoor sitting area outside the front door and lovely district views including glimpses of the bruny island ferry making its way across the water. Peaceful and quiet. Good value for money and easy to find. In spring the... More

We stayed in the wine loft which was beautifully appointed with views over the vineyards to the water. The interior was comfortable with smart furnishings and we were given delicious fresh bread on arrival for our breakfast the next morning. Very convenient to the ferry at Kettering if you're traveling to Bruny Island.

Having come from the north of Tassie and through Hobart and paid $120 per night for basic motels, at $140 with fresh breakfast provisions or $125 without, this place is unbelievable value for money. The clocktower cottage is 2 bedrooom with 2 separate living areas and a full kitchen. The decor is beautiful without being overdone. The setting is absolutely... More

Thank you so very much for such a beautiful stay in The Clocktower Cottage on your vineyard in Kettering. The views from the split level lounge were outstanding. The best bit would have to be the breakfast provisions that included fresh eggs and hot home baked bread on our arrival, simply brilliant. We were able to poach and boil our... More

09/10 Let me start by saying it was a clean and charming accommodation but not very impressed about having no hot water for two whole days!! The owners tried to fix the problem but without success! It was the fact that no discount or refund was offered except a 20 dollar bottle of wine for our slight Inconvenience......Our stay was... More
