Everything was beautifull; the place, the food, the area! Also the service was very good! The beach on the front and good walks in the bush or along the beaches. The rooms are cosy warm and very clean as well!

We brought our black Labrador with us for a holiday in Tasmania. Hawley House Is an oasis for dog lovers with the owners and their dogs making you feel welcome at every occasion. The accommodation is lovely and charming and simply restful. Would highly recommend a stay. It is an easy drive from Devonport and the ferry.

Simply stunning, Hawley House is a little piece of paradise. The house is an old family home and is full of history at every turn. You can tell that it is well loved. The rooms are beautiful and have lovely touches such as fresh flowers from the garden, and old books to read. There is a library which you can... More

If this place was spotless and disinfected I guess I would rate it "excellent", but apart from the effect on my sinuses I would not have missed this experience for quids. It was only because of an online deal that we even knew about Hawley House, which seemed so wonderful that I grabbed it before any of our itinerary was... More

Being greeted on arrival by the owners' dogs was a good initial sign for a dog lover. This is a lovely old home with beautiful grounds and a great view to the sea. It is not a hotel and doesn't advertise itself as one, so you have to expect some idiosyncrasy. I came here with a colleague for business and... More

We were there just for one night.. This is located at one end of the drive down Devonport coast and hence slightly isolated.. Sophie was managing and is part of the family owning this place. She was quite helpful in providing us excellent itinerary change suggestions on our trip onward since we were hit by bad weather the next morning..... More

In 2007, my husband and I were married at Hawley House and It was, to a non-romantic, the most perfect amd romantic location. The owners and their family investment in Hawley House and Its surrounds was a major part of what made this location so wonderful. We returned with our daughter in 2012, and though It was late fall this... More

In deciding on our next B&B extensive use of the internet was used in securing satisfactory accommodation. Hawley House presented very well in fact the photos looked like something from Hollywood. Beach front acreage in a manor style setting. The only image missing was Errol Flynn or Clarke Cable leading men from yesteryear. On arrival the dream the was shattered,... More

Hello coast traveller. We are most disappointed to read your diatribe about our home and business. You will note that your sentiments are not shared by the vast majority of our customers. Unfortunately it appears you got the wrong impression when booking as Hawley is marketed as an 'idiosyncratic family home' 135 years young, and not in any way a... More

Arrived for a two night stay as part of a business conference. It was a very cold night, entered into the drawing room, there was a roaring open fire and a pre-dinner drink which was all much appreciated. We (my two colleagues and I) retired to the dining room for dinner, the meals were very tasty and hearty home cooked... More
