We spent 3 weeks touring around "Tassie" as it is not a large island BUT the best part was in Cradle Mountain Park at the "Wilderness Village Cabins" in Cradle Mountain proper - Tasmania. Was an Ab-Fab great location as we had some very warm weather to welcome us on arrival and then suddenly, very cold winds that drove us... More

We spent one night in a 'cottage' (cabin) at this resort. There was a large living/bedroom with a kitchenette. It was very cold at Cradle Mountain while we were there and the heating wasn't adequate. The shower room (shower was excellent) was across the entrance lobby which was unheated, and the shower room only had heat lamps which weren't enough... More

The wilderness village is very easy to find and is well signposted from the main road. My partner and I found the cabins to be well equipped and walked in to find that the heating was already on and the cabin a very comfortable temperature. The bed was huge and very comfortable, with a heated blanket in place for use... More

We stayed for one night in the studio cottage and there were a few things that could be improved. The furnishings were rather tired looking. Tap water appeared yellowish with sediments and we were worried about drinking it even after boiling it in the kettle. Heating was not enough in the big living room cum bedroom. There was also a... Stayed for one night in a studio cottage and loved it. Great for families, has a second room for the kids. Has a balcony looking onto bushland. Good little playground central to all cottages. Cottage is self contained, so if you plan on staying a couple nights, bring some food along as you are pretty remote to the nearest town.... More

We shared a modern 2 bedroom lodge with another couple and were very comfortable, We had to self cater as the restaurant was not open during our stay ( Sunday and Monday night), but that was Ok. The lodge had a BBQ and kitchen, we bought supplies at the shop at the nearby holiday park. It was 5 mins drive... More

The room was very clean with a modern bathroom. I found the layout of the property interesting regarding having to walk past the front door to reach the bathroom, but it did not really matter. The king size bed is right next to the balcony so you are able to relax while looking out at the nice scenery. Cradle mountain... More

My adult daughter and I travelled from her home in Sydney to Tasmania. We flew into Hobart and rented a car to drive to the Wilderness Village. We stopped at Launceston for food supplies. We were amazed to see a lot of dead wombats and wallabees on the roadside as we climbed higher and higher. It was late when we... More

The weather was not the most attractive part of our stay. The nearby idyllic Dove Lake, which normally should be a (polished) mirror reflecting the iconic Cradle Mountain, was this time more of the broken kind. A storm knocked out the electricity during the night. But we were rewarded with a beautiful sunny boardwalk through the valley the next day.... More
