So I accidentally screwed up my booking for a Pine suite so we ended up having to upgrade our booking to the King Billy Suite. I was excited as I've never stayed somewhere for $800 per night and thought it was going to be amazing, this was sadly not the case. We arrived at our cabin and I was impressed... More

We were in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Wombats, Pandemelons and Echidnas wandered past! Just charming. The main house has lovely wood fires which are so welcoming in the evening. The food is OK but not fine dining. The menu stayed the same which was a surprise. Breakfasts are good. Worth the trip.

This was to be the highlight of our first trip to Tasmania. We were blessed by one of the 12 days of the year Cradle Mountain experiences clear blue sky and sunshine! The omens were good. Checkin was uber-efficient, primarily due to Melina on reception, who was a very upbeat and likeable person. Travelling with another local couple, we checked... More

In my experience hotels nea national parks tend to be less than great. Lack of competition, remote locations I suppose are the reason. This place however is great. The main lodge has all that you would expect, rustic lounge, roaring fireplaces and good restaurant (if a bit expensive for food and drink). Don't be put off by the less than... More

Checking in at Peppers I got a good feeling about the place from the charming staff. My wooden cabin was at the top of the site with parking opposite. On opening the door there was the lovely smell of natural wood in the vestibule - ideal for hanging wet clothing from walking. The room was delightful with a (gas) log... More

What a cold place this is, 6 degrees in early March. One building for the Reception and Restaurants and then drive to your cabin which usually housed 2 units. Very large property. Reminded me of the Alpine lodges at Perisher. We chose a unit with a log fireplace in the room which was delightful and so warm that we kept... More

My girlfriend took me to this place for a romantic getaway. We were allocated chalet # 71 which we were told was an upgrade but in fact was just a larger family unit with a second room with twin beds in it - which we didn't need or use. The decor was a bit dated, especially the little kitchen area.... More

We loved our stay here in a spa cabin and he log fire was such a delightful touch, the room, bathroom, bed and toiletries were all gorgeous. The only thing that could use any imprivement was the food in the tavern. While it was average quality & quite expensive it certainly didn't put a dampener on our stay. If i... More

The plus is the location, Cradle Mountain National Park is stunning,However the Lodge is not. From the moment we arrived we got the impression the place was tired and that goes for the staff also.We payed for three nights in the King Billy (we stayed only two in the end), the accommodation was clean and in a beautiful spot, however for... We stayed in one of the family suites at cradle mountain lodge. The entire experience was disappointing and not worth the money. The first night our heat didn't work and all we got was a little apology. But that could have been because they were busy lying to guests about "construction" in the main lodge which was really repairing it... More
