Cradle Mountain Lodge is lovely, the staff are so friendly and helpful, they made staying there such a pleasant experience. It's the closest accommodation to where the National Park starts, so it's perfect if you are planning on doing lots of walks. We travelled with a 19month old, and they happily provided a portacot for us. Our Pencil Pine cabin... More

We stayed 2 nights in a Pencil Pine cabin positioned close to the Lodge with a lovely outlook over the lake, where we saw the resident platypus frolicking in the rain! Very comfortable contemporary cabin. Fire was a gas log fire but very warm and cosy. Cabin itself quite spacious although another mirror in addition to the small one in... More

We had 2 nights in a Pencil Pine cabin, very comfortable and modern. The bathroom was looking dated and was very cold, but we are discovering that this seems to be the norm here in Tassie ! The gas log fire kept us really cosy. Our cabin (12) was very close to the lodge and afforded a beautiful view over... More

Booked for 2 night at the Lodge in April 2012 and had a fantastic time. We booked a spa Cabin with a real fireplace, which was so romantic. We had one dinner at the restaurant and one dinner at the tavern, the restaurant was excellent and the service great. The tavern is pub food and was great too, perfect to... More

We stayed for only one night in a Pencil pine cabin. The room was very nice, contemporary style and comfortable, with 2 lounge chairs and a little coffee table. Large queen or it could have been a king bed plus an extra large single bed which we didn't need. The room had a large panorama window which backed straight out... More

Contrary to many reviewers comments I found the service to be wonderful... staff in all areas of the lodge made this stay great! We stayed in a traditional spa cabin... and it was very spacious and clean albeit a bit dated. I'd try the contemporary cabin next time but it is much smaller. We were surprised to find it even... After much deliberation my new husband and I planned to take our honeymoon in Tasmania - feeling very spoilt in booking "The Lodge". We got there and from the minute we pulled in we were disappointed. Too expensive, food was terrible (no where else to eat) and service was very average. We were so upset to have spent so much... Went here on a photography trip, and it would make for a great getaway. The rooms themselves were fairly average (Pencil pine cabin)... Certainly not bad, very clean and tidy, but just nothing too amazing. I'm guessing the more expensive rooms would be better. Paid $200 for the night via wotif.com.au. The place itself however is amazing. The main lobby... More

We stayed three nights and were upgraded on arrival from a Traditional Spa Cabin to a Spa Suite. The suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Heating was great by either the electric heater or the wood fire. We were located up the hill from the chalet (as are most cabins) and pretty well the furthest away but it was... More

Visiting the Cradle Mountain area is a must-do for any traveller. We spent a long weekend here with friends and stayed at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge. While the accommodation and facilities were appropriate for a somewhat remote wilderness area, they weren't outstanding. Some fixtures and fittings in the rooms and the guest areas were looking a bit tired. Service in... More
