We stayed in a family cabin for the night prior to departing on the Overland Trail walk. The cabin was clean with basic cooking and ablution amenities, nothing flash (as one would expect in at caravan park). There is a double bed but the bunk beds were a little tight for adults. Linen & towels were supplied. The reception shop... More

We had an unpowered site which felt quite private considering it was near a main path. The showers were scorching hot, lovely after a cold day. Don't get caught out by the 5 min timer tho! Or you'll be standing there lathered up & freezing. It all seemed fairly clean & well maintained.

I often wonder about what people expect from reading other comments,I found all staff very accommodating the night manager could not have been more helpful even though it was her 2nd call out, I know staying in the BUSH I would expect to see spiders, and numerous creepy crawlies, so some comments amaze me,it's the bush the wilderness, isn't that... We stayed at the Cradle Mountain Discovery/Big4 caravan park in January 2015. Upon check in we were greeted with a happy and well drilled team of staff who knew exactly what the traveller wanted. They made the check in process easy and stressless. The sites are beautiful and are VERY private with many native marsupials and birds frequenting our site... More

Just next to the visitor centre, we had to pay 35$ for 2. Kitchen is very nice with the fireplace, we had snow so it was even better to eat on a warm place. Showers looks nice too but was limited to 5 minutes and low in power, hopefully you can restart it without waiting a while...

Very close to Information Centre. If you need any info, speak to the friendly staff at Info Centre as reception will only tell you to speak to them anyway. You can get a free shuttle bus to all walking points up to Dove Lake.(You still need a National Parks Pass.) The shuttle saves you the drive, but there are carparks... More

We stayed here as a large group. The bunk or family rooms are very dated and small. The only convenience in them was one power point, that powered the heater. No other power points and no wash basin. Paths to the rooms were overgrown which caused you to get wet from moisture on the overgrown foliage. Needs serious capital expenditure.... More

Our first stop on our roadtrip of Tasmania! After a stressful drive from Launceston (half due to never driving an automatic before, half due to my terrible map reading ability) dodging potential Road Kill, and wondering if Cradle Mountain road EVER ended and if we had missed our stop, we finally arrived! Totally worth it. After now visiting TAS, VIC,... More

This was the most expensive caravan park we stayed in during our trip in Tassie. An unpowered camp was $36 whereas most other sites were $20 or so. However, the park definitely made up for the cost. The communal cooking area is excellent - it is all sealed in and has two fire places which was perfect as it was... More

Great location opposite from national park info centre/buses, cosy cabins, good heating and helpful staff who recommended and booked tours and dinner for us. Lovely having wildlife such as pademelons and wallabies throughout the park.
