What a beautiful location. Stunning serenity and a glorious part of the world. 5 out of 5 for Mother Earth. But what a circus the lodge is. I just can't fathom the catastrophe that drives this business. Very very unprofessional. Staff seem confused, poorly trained and uninterested. A calamity of an operation that lacks any organisation. Not staffs responsibility we... More

Nice looking lakeside lodge upon arrival from Hobart. Relatively easy drive in early April. Checked in without problems, bought a park pass from the ranger and then figured out where to park after unloading the car. The map and directions did not match the signs and barriers. We figured it out in the end. Recommend not arriving after dark. It... More

The cottage was modern and clean. It had coffee and tea facilities and a small refriderator. Room had a small terasse. The surrounding was vety beautiful and offerded good possibilities for hiking. We warmly recommend this place.

Beautiful location and comfortable accommodation. Great hikes close by. Helpful Park Rangers. Obliging hotel staff. Unfortunately let down in areas that could be easily remedied. The spa bath took two hours to fill at which time it was too cool to enjoy. The shower was very weak to the point of a dribble from the showerhead. At decent hot shower... More

With the mixed reviews we took a chance and are pleased we did. Keep in mind this is a rather remote part of the globe. Our lake-side cabins were clean, warm, welcoming and very comfortable. Gas fireplace, excellent beds, spacious bathroom and great location. Sure there are some quirks. Finding your way around the site (particularly after dark) is certainly... More

We arrived at this lodge at Lake St Claire after dark around 5.30pm in winter, it's very very dark poorly lit and bad signage as to where reception is. Hard to find in the dark. It was raining and the reception clerk was not helpful, no offer of umbrellas to get to our cottage, the place is badly lit leading... More

Hi There, Thank you for providing some feedback on your recent stay. From your review it appears that one of the aspects not to your liking was the lighting and signage in the area. As we are located inside the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area we need to comply with the authorities and permissions from the regulator itself as it... More

Very comfortable accommodation. Incredible views across the lake from my room. Hard to believe I was in a World Heritage area. The restaurant does a great meal. I had a perfectly cooked Eye-Fillet steak.I don't recommend driving their at night though (unless you drive slow or have very good insurance). We hired a car in hobart and drove up late... More

Hi Liam, Many thanks for your feedback. We're very glad you took the time to come across to Tasmania for the weekend. You're right about the roads at night, if driving at night we would also recommend taking insurance on the vehicle (or driving slowly) because there is quite a lot of wildlife. The roads are also quite windy between... More

It was a spur of the moment decision to stay at the lodge. The gentleman at reception was very helpful with our booking and we found ourselves in a lovely lakeside cabin with spa and breakfast included. The downside with our stay started with our dinner. My fish dish was fine except that the vegetables were of the frozen variety.... More

A great spot over looking the lake, great clean rooms, big enough for our other travellers to join us, sip some whine eat some cheese... relax. And the sun rise over the lake with mist rising made for some top photos.

After a day on the road and a desire for a little comfort, an off the cuff inquiry with the Lake St Clair Lodge saw a good value room obtained on the water's edge providing great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
