Spend a couple of nights in this Bed and Breakfast with my family. Walking distance to everywhere in Campbelltown. Just beside the park and the river. Michael the owner and host is just awesome. Lots of history in the place and make sure you check out the Book Cellar...lots of amazing stuff there if you're into books. More

A little on the expensive side for a smallish main room with a double bed and basic continental breakfast. Also had a smaller room with bunk beds enroute to the bathroom. Lovely bathroom with 'old stlye' fittings. Good water pressure. Bigger rooms are available. This B&B is quite clean and comfortable for a short stay with a couple of kids. More

Touring Tasmania and focussing on colonial history and architecture this was a great overnight in Campbelltown. Very happy to have found this B&B. We stayed in the old kitchen, terrific open fire (as well as electric heating) very comfy bed, had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was very good, we enjoyed the tour of the house and a wonderful bookstore... More

We found this perfect B&B whilst recently on holiday in Tasmania - and what a delight it is! Clean. comfortable, well-priced and perfectly located in Campbell Town right near the Red Bridge. A lovely room, pleasant hosts and - well, I could go on forever! And don't miss the Bokk Cellars underneath! More

Having lived in Tasmania for sixty years we have travelled up and down the midlands highway between Hobart and Launceston about a million times. It does get tedious! Until we hit on the idea of turning a boring chore into a minibreak. We tried a few places around the half way mark but Campbell Town ticked all the boxes because... More

Came across by boat to Devonport and drove to Campbelltown. Fox Hunters return was a great place for a Midlands heritage stop, right in the convict heart of Tasmania. We enjoyed the amazing colonial feel of the accommodation. Great hospitality, friendly atmosphere, we loved the transformation of the convict cellars into a bookshop. The open fire in our room was... we spent one night in the old kitchen room that now we call the cold kitchen room. Very poor heater for this ugly big room (very hard in winter night!). We paid 149 AUD for the room and breakfast. Breakfast was : 2 slices of bread and cereals! To conclude the visit of the cellar was ridiculous as the owner... More

Thank you to Trip Advisor for the opportunity to respond to this dismal review put up on the TripAdvisor website. We regret that Julnad from Paris didn't enjoy his stay for reasons which could have been addressed had he raised them at the time of his stay. The Old Kitchen Room is heated with modern electric heating which can be... More

A wonderful well-preserved/restored place in which you can almost "feel" the history. Loved it. Enjoyed the commentary and tour of the house and convict quarters - our hosts were always attentive to our needs but not overwhelming or intrusive at all. Foxhunters Return is a stunning place (who could not fall in love with the name?). We stayed in "the... More

I had a high expectation towards this Hotel before. I love old building and the old house has a history back to 1830s, the prisoners of Tasmania first built this building. The rooms have a historical touch everywhere, the bed, the tap, the paintings... all can be date back to old times. We booked it online for 4 adults in... More

As soon as we walked in the door we immediately felt very welcomed and at home, service was fantastic (the best we found in Tassy) and our room was lovely. They had no trouble accommodating our 8 month old baby and even provided a little toy for him to play with on our breakfast table every morning! Beautiful buildings and... More
