Visited for lunch & we were the first in for the day. Greeted by Dave who has to be the perfect publican. Very personable fellow & quite the entrepreneur. Sat us a a nice table in front of the fire. The food came out quickly. It was very well presented & extremely good. I had the Lamb Shoulder. Succulent !... More

We had the chowder and the crumbed calamari entres. Both were very enjoyable and well cooked, the clamari was lovely and tender, although both dishes lacked seasoning. We then had the scotch fillet and the fish and chips. The size of the meals are enormous. There was no need for entres. The steak and the fish were both well cooked,... More

We had tea at Hotel Bruny. The mixed 'Bruny Island Dozen' which was actually 13 oysters was delicious. 5 different toppings, all yum. My calamari was a bit tough and a bit disappointing after the oysters. Hubby has the slow cooked lamb which was very tasty. Lovely staff too.

Such a lovely surprise to find this simple but fantastic spot on Bruny Island. Lovely fresh seafood for lunch (at 3 pm!) and a delightful, personable proprietor to make sure we were happy with everything. There are not a lot of places to eat on Bruny Island, but it's well worth seeking out the one and only pub for great... More

Fantastic food, amazing views, very well priced! And free Wi-Fi. Come to Bruny island and stop in at Hotel Bruny, you won't be disappointed! I've met the owners David and Rachel, the most genuine and hard working, lovely people I've met, and not far at all from Hobart.

What a little gem. We had a fantastic lunch at this rather modest little pub! Lots of tour busses arrived and we thought this may cause delays. ..but our lunch arrived just as we'd finished our drinks. Well organised! My partner said his callarami was THE BEST he'd ever had....and all terribly reasonably priced.

The Bruny Island Hotel provides some of the very best accommodation and dining anywhere in Tasmania, in my experience. The dinner menu pretty much ticks all the boxes, especially for lovers of fresh seafood. For those who like natural oysters, you won’t get them any fresher – anywhere! – because they are shucked in the kitchen right before they are... More

We read about Hotel Bruny and we were not disappointed. The staff are young, but really friendly, great service and very knowledgeable about the Island and Tassie. We ordered the chicken parama and slow cooked lamb shoulder in dark ale. Yummy. The chicken para was 'huge' and tasted just like a parma should, tomato sauce well cooked. The slow cooked... More

Well what a wonderful place to eat, the view is amazing if you get in early afternoon or for lunch. Just a small little building nothing special, it's the people and the energy that is wonderful. Food was wonderful, I had Fish and my partner had pasta. All perfect. The only thing was not enough vegetarian options. The Vege pasta... More
