Three of us (friends) shared a family room for a weekend reunion in the Blue Mountains, booked last minute, which limited our options. The rooms are tired, but clean. There were shared bathrooms on the floor that were clean and adequate, but the noise from the pub lounge underneath our room was loud and went on until way after midnight.... More

Old but very clean, especially the shared bathrooms. The rooms are spacious and clean. For cons, the thermal insulation and the soundproofing aren't good. The restaurant is not expensive. The Darwin walk (to Wentworth Falls) starts just behind the hotel.

Clean and good value for money. We stayed at the front of the hotel and we weren't bothered at all by the noise (and we stayed during a long weekend). Bathrooms were surprisingly modern. Unlike what others have said here, my kids and I enjoyed the food! We did a video review of this place! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oAoVgVKTXg

The hotel is very old, maybe the only hotel still standing in the area. the service was ok and the price was average. Mybe they should do something about the name "the grand" because there is nothing grand about it. the best part is when someone got mistaken with the bathroom and entered my room instead!!!!

We stayed in the Grandview for two nights over the Easter weekend. The first thing to mention is that it was a bit more expensive than if it was any other day of the year, which I think is a bit rough (it's not like it's a huge facility with lots of amenities) and for both nights there were only... Thank you Emma for your review. I would just like to clarify your first sentence where you said you paid more on Easter Week-end to stay with us. Our week-end rates did not change over Easter you paid the same as you would any other week-end of the year. Perhaps you are getting confused between our midweek rates and our... More

Went to this restaurant a few times and have been disappointed. Food is very ordinary and each time we have gone there the dining room has been practically empty. Very little ambience or country pub warmth. Avoid their two for one meals on Mondays and Tuesdays. My steak was rubbery and full of fat. Their Fish dish (Dory) is not... More

We stayed for two nights - 3 adults in a queen + single / family room. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Share bathrooms recently renovated which made a big difference. Real old world charm - could really get the feel of those who had been there in days gone by. Of course, the Great Western Highway has changed somewhat... More

Early May, a group of us, 10 hikers booked this hotel for 2 nights. It was pretty cold, and the central heating in the rooms was on, yet couldn't be turned down or off. The heaters must have been painted recently, and the paint fumes were just awful, even though the windows were open. We were up way earlier than... More

Management response:

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and would like to address some of the points you raised in your review. *The heaters in the rooms can be turned off but the temperature cannot be controlled in each room. As it gets very cold in the Blue Mountains we lke to keep the rooms warm and I... More

Charming old Pub/Hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. The food in the bistro was outstanding for pub food, we ate there for Lunch and Dinner during our two day stay. We stayed in a Double Room overlooking the court yard area. The rooms are basic which we knew before we stayed as we viewed photos on their website, but... More

Dreadful. Gross. Full of p*ssed drinkers. Depressing room - dark and noisy. Life's too short to stay here in my view. The owners claim it has been revamped. I was hard pressed to work out how. In fact I couldn't. I went out in order to get away from the place!!
