Caves house was a delight, With no TV and only minimum Internet (wi-fi near the bar didn't work for us) we enjoyed each others company, caught up on some reading and just relaxed in front of the open fire places. The rooms were lovely, comfortable and warm with a great strong shower. Our only disappointment was the restaurant, fine dining it... More

I really enjoyed staying here and getting a feel for the history this place has. Ok, so the rooms aren't modern but i felt as though it helped the experience. We got a room with a private bathroom, which i think is much better. Staff were really friendly. We arrived late Friday night, in the rain and reception were really... More

Caves House is wonderful, as you view it from driving in from the Grand Arch you know you are about to step back in time, staff are exceptionally friendly and will did anything to make our stay enjoyable. Our stay was highlighted by the closeness to the Caves themselves, the beautiful walks, and Chisolm's Restaurant

You can get much more out of your visit to the Caves by staying overnight. The drive up from Sydney will take over 3 hours, and that's if traffic is good and you don't stop. Why do it in one day when you can start early, rested, with a decent breakfast under your belt? The guided tour groups will be... More

Hi DrX1800, Yes, building started in 1896 and was not completed until 1926. It is on the NSW State Heritage Register. It's a great place to stay, for a wilderness getaway, with friendly staff and expert cave guides. Thank you for your brave remarks! More

Jenolan Caves is such a Beautiful Piece of Nature. Jenolan Caves House is a Classical Beauty, however is in need of some love and attention. The Reception staff was unhelpful when i asked at 3.15pm for a bucket of ice (due to no fridges or mini bars in rooms), by telling me that the Bar doesn't open till 4pm. I... More

Hi Bruce, Jenolan Caves House is indeed a classic beauty, on the NSW State Heritage Register. We also would like to restore her to her former glory. The best way to assist is to spread the word that Jenolan Caves is a must-see natural wonder, with food and accommodation that allows visitors to take the several days necessary to do... More

Stayed for 2 nights at the mountain lodge, $170 per night for two of us. Nothing mountainous or lodge about it except for the sleep water to/from anything. Feels like a uni dorm room from the 1980's. Room was very small, hard to walk around in without bashing my head on the ceiling or tripping over things. Built for a... More

For $242/night you can get a good 5 star hotel in Sydney CBD. At Caves House, you get an annex, walk up 3 floors, to an entry door half of its hinges, broken jounery and plaster, a bathroom that requires a caving light, and has a ventilation system that sounds like a taxiing 747. They are luck that the actual... More

A mixture of old world charm in a natural bushscape setting amongst Australia's beautiful flora and fauna. It was an absolute hit with our two children and they couldn't get enough of the caves even though we were all walked out by day 2.

Jenolan Caves is a unique and beautiful experience, The venue was clean & tidy, but very basic. It was however good for a family. TV didn't work properly, but beds were comfy & Caves House Dining was - lets say just OK, as meals were pretty average & sounded far nicer on the menu than they tasted & none of... More
