My mother, sister in law and I attended this first 'traditional' afternoon tea which the new owners Margaret and Rowen are hoping to revive. Well all I can say is let's hope they are a wonderful success, as they deserve to be. With the original guest house owners recipe's brought back to life (all house baked) scones with plum jam... Glenella is a lovely Guest House in the centre of Blackheath. Its walking distance from the railway station and amongst the cafes and shops. We have never really been interested in staying at a guest house or hosted accommodation preferring more private places. As such we probably would never have stayed at Glenella if we weren't booked here by Auswalks... More

Cozy, historic, comfortable, free wi-fi and right in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Owners Margaret and Rowan were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful in all regards. Glenella’s rhododendrons, in full bloom in late October, only added to the charm of the place. Full breakfast every morning overlooking the back garden. Walking distance to interesting town-center sites and... More

Margaret and Rowan have owned Glenella for a year. In that time they have placed their indelible mark on this historic guest house. The rooms are immaculate but somewhat old-fashioned. Breakfast is exceptional with wide choice of both hot and cold selections. Perfect location for touring the Blue Mountains and neighboring gardens. But in the end the hospitality nudges this... We spent one night here in October and will definitely return. Glenella is a small and comfortable guesthouse. Our room was at the front with access to the veranda to read and sit and watch Blackheath. Reverse cycle air-conditioning was there to cope with the temperatures that the Blue Mountains can provide. There was also an electric blanket which we... More

A week after our one night at Glenella has us planning a return trip with our men in tow .. arrival with the gorgeous garden was a delight and then the assistance given by the young couple made us feel so welcome. Monday night's dinner and Tuesday's brekky was all we could ask for .. wonderful service and food. Our... More

We were an extended family group containing 4 parents and 7 adult children (23 - 27). We hired 6 of the 7 bedrooms. The common area of lounges/chairs with the open fire place was excellent for us to be able to gather to catch up and have pre-dinner drinks and nibbles prior to dinner. We walked out for a meal... The new owners of Glenella have got the essentials right: a warm welcome, a warm comfortable bed, sparkling small bathroom (great shower rose) and free WiFi throughout the property. This B&B is within easy walking distance of Blackheath's many restaurants and coffee shops, and the train station. The previous owner of this Blue Mountains landmark allowed it to become very... The reading chairs outside of our room on the verandah were a very nice touch especially as the sun was shining and the garden is so nice. The property itself is very close to everything so walking to town / restaurants / coffee beats fighting for a parking spot on the busy weekends. Breakfast is lovely, the rooms nice and... More

Suggest coming in summer, I have the heater up to 26 and am still cold. Room is nice though could do with outlets to plug phone charger and all in. My bed is also 2 singles pushed together which isn't the most comfortable and don't plan on using Internet while here, free wifi but keep getting a no server available... More
