We found wonderful guests who made our stay in the blue mountains extraordinary. Rowan was eager to provide advices on where to hike with tons of explanations regarding this side of the country. The hotel is a little bit old fashioned, but the rooms are very comfortable, there is free wifi, and the included breakfast is delicious.

Writing this review sitting by the cozy fireplace of this vintage guesthouse. Host is friendly, rooms are cozy. Shower/bathroom facilities are good. There is free WiFi. Thai Restaurant is full of people. Would stay here again.

Margaret and Rowan are re-building the reputation of this vintage B&B as rapidly as they are renovating its heritage building. There is still a little way to go to make it really cosy on a cold autumn night but the rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast in the huge restaurant is excellent - as is the coffee. A sun-downer... More

Stayed here during the Sydney "superstorm", so didn't see Blackheath at its best. However Margaret and Rowan, and their staff, could not have been nicer. They gave us information on local walks and ferried us about, and light the fire in the reception area that we huddled around quite a bit. Breakfast very good, with a willing barista for multiple... My family stayed here recently and really enjoyed it. It was a friendly, social, and comfortable environment. Margaret and Rowan were chatty and informative. The breakfast was well prepared and got us ready to head out into the rain and try to see the Blue Mountains. They have some work ahead of them restoring the building (other parts of the... More

Margaret and Rowan are the recent new owners of this grand old colonial home avaiable within walking distance of good coffee and food and interesting eclectic mix of shops to browse. We arrived on a rain soaked day to a very warm welcome from Margaret. The lounge entry is glorious with pressed meyal ceiling and comfortable period furniture. Two separate... More

Staying at Glenella is like stepping into history. The beautiful old property is faithful to it's era, with modern comforts. The guesthouse is a few metres away from the centre of Blackheath, so walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hosts are friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast... More

We stayed with Margaret and Rowan who were wonderful hosts. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hospitality was warm and welcoming . Breakfast was a great start to the day. Especially loved the fresh hot cross buns that Judith baked fresh.

Stumbled on this excellent value when arriving in Blackheath without any accommodation. Welcoming owners who showed an interest in our travels and recommended other places to visit during our short stay. Room was pleasant / comfortable and breakfast was exceptional. Thoroughly recommend to others.
