I have stayed at the Playhouse twice and hope to stay here many times again. Beautifully appointed, fabulous attention to every little detail, quiet, restful and welcoming. Located in the heart of town with easy access to shops, bank etc. Ideal stopover point en route to Queensland.

Such a unique place. Host is such a lovely warm person. Can not do enough for you. He showed us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. Gus the dog was gorgeous as well. Bar and restaurant is a great place to unwind. Has a cinema/theatre which is a highlight. A very unique place that is... More

The Playhouse Hotel is beautifully renovated and decorated, with crisp, modern lines, expanses of glass and splashes of colour and comfort. While the bones of an old country pub remain, it is now nothing like one, except in its friendliness. With a family history link to Barraba, I'd not visited for years or ever stayed overnight. As for every other... More

The Playhouse Hotel is quite unique in its combination of stylish fitouts, welcoming staff and delicious meals. Andrew is a brilliant host and the hotel is a pleasure to spend time in, whether in the room or enjoying artwork on the walls or a show in the theatre. A "must do" venue.

The Playhouse was the perfect location for my sisters Great Gatsby Hens Night. Everything about the night surpassed our expectations. The motel was so charming and different. The food was delicious. The price was surprising. But the most notable gem of the night was our caretaker, our go to man, Andrew. His service was outstanding. He went above and beyond... More

The Playhouse Hotel in Barraba is one of those magical unexpected finds that make life worthwhile. This is a high quality hotel, but not expensive, with excellent bedrooms, great food - and, would you believe it, a private cinema. The host Andrew Sharp, an Aussie former London West End actor, is a great conversationalist and he has a choice of... More

The Playhouse used to be a pub and has been fully refurbished into the beautiful accomodation it is today. Amazing artworks, lovely rooms and fantastic service. Even though it is located in the main Street of this beautiful little town we had an undisturbed nights sleep.

What a wonderful venue and a wonderful town. We are the ones who bought a Windmill and had a fantastically unexpectedly enjoyable time. I would send any friend of mine to stay here and know they would be looked after superbly. I've traveled the world (as has the owner) and it shows. To have such hospitality and so generously given... Barraba is a quaint small country town with local arts. a memorial to the Anzacs, bush tracks, gem fossicking and cattle country outside Tamworth. The Playhouse Hotel is an extraordinary surprise. Its heritage combines such style with fabulous artworks including work by our renowned artist Martin Sharp. Cappuccino, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade ice cream and fresh delicious food set... More

Having eaten at the playhouse many times on business trips - and enjoyed it, I took my family for a long weekend. The rooms are elegantly appointed, clean and everything is of a high quality - beds are very comfortable. Andrew ensures you are welcome and feel at home with his exuberant manner and the home cooked style of food... More
