Very nice hotel with a relaxing atmosphere tastefully decorated to suit the style of the building ( Country House), situated in a quiet lane with pretty gardens. Arrived on a wet & windy weekend, the room was very clean & warm and the beds extemely comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, The Owner was very charming (don't believe... more

The room (17) we stayed in was clean and quite spacious and the bathroom suite was modern with a good supply of hot water. The bed was comfortable but we noticed water noise in the pipes. There was a Sky sports channel available, even though the tv and remote could have been updated, and Wi-fi facilities were also available for... more

We booked the Roundabout for one night with some trepidation as some reviews likened it to Fawlty Towers. It may put some (previous) complaints in context if we say it is a small hotel, out in the country and is a converted old Tudor style house. It has been furnished in mock Tudor style with dark wood furniture. The rooms... more

For: Looks great from outside - great location - all very promising. Good breakfast Against: Restaurant manager very surly and cold. Food took ages and was very poor. The pork satay was minute and the fish pie was a frozen offering warmed up in the microwave - and the meal was ridiculously expensive for what it was. The room -... more

We live locally and had experienced coffee/ drinks in the garden, so decided to treat ourselves to a one night break. Big Mistake. The hotel looks great from the outside, in a tranquil location, but there, everything stops. We checked into our room, to find a relic from the 1970s. Everything was thoroughly tired and dowdy, with bed covers needing... more

Having arrived in the early evening after 5 hours mainly spent on the M25 ,we were looking forward to a relaxing drink and dinner. After choosing a glass of wine from a very small list we asked to browse the evening menu. Minutes later the young waitress asked what would we like to order. We explained that we had booked... more

Spent the night here in one of the hotel's 4poster rooms.. Staff friendly Room ok, though dark furnitue and a very dated red/pink colour bathroom, Had a lunchtime snack on arrival. Bacon and brie baquette. Arrived with the usual salad garnish on the side. Lettuce old, with brown leaves. Not an impressive start and enough to put me off eating... more

My wife and I took my 95 year old mother for the weekend so comfort and friendly was more important than exhillarating night life. It fiited the bill perfectly, staff obliging, comfortable rooms - we enjoyed our stay. more

I attended a function with approximately 40 guests - not a huge number and certainly not enough for the manager to appear and act close to a nervous breakdown. He liberally sprinkled sirs and madams whilst pushing customers out of his way, shouting at staff in front of guests. The front desk was left unattended for extended periods, the bar... more

I apologise for the fact that you felt the service was not up to your expectations on your visit to the hotel. We do pride ourselves on our friendly and efficient service and therefore it disappoints and suprises me that this was your impression. Regarding the ambience of the public areas, we have recently refurbished the lounge, bar and restaurant,...

A quite nice hotel with rambling bedrooms and older furniture. Not brilliantly comfortable - but some charm. Food was very good. The manager gave us advice for walking along the South Downs which took up most of a sunny autumn day. Ok place but we wont go back again. more
