Stayed here for 3 nights in order to walk the south downs way. The Halfway Bridge hotel was simply stunning both in food and rooms in every way. Friendly service, cosy modern rooms, amazing food and a quiet location away from the road. Room #1 had a massive bed too. booking was easy and breakfasts were everything you could want... More

Had a lovely evening with friends here: the ambience was spot-on for a relaxing meal. The eating area is divided into a number of alcoves, with a few tables in each, giving an intimate feel and a welcome warmth on a wintry evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service discreet and professional. For me, the menu was... More

Stayed here for a weekend away from London. We ate in the pub twice and enjoyed it, the staff were very friendly. The rooms are in a converted stable block a short walk behind the pub. This means it feels very peaceful since they're also set away from the road. Our room (#6) was spacious and had floor to ceiling... More

Extremely comfortable and well appointed room (number one) in the detached former Cowdray Estate stable block a short walk from and behind the inn...and away from the main road resulting in a quiet situation. Fresh milk already in the fridge along with bottled water, and real coffee for the cafetiere. I personally prefer a double bed rather than two zipped... More

What a great find - staying here on business - very cosy bar and was made to feel very welcome from the start, great food, local produce and cooked with attention. Fantastic rooms and a very comfortable bed!! Can't wait to come back here again!

My partner and I have stayed here twice now as a base to go walking in the South Downs. At the end of a long wet muddy day trekking accross fields this gorgeous boutique Inn is the perfect end to the day. The Managers and staff are just so accommodating and everything is so well presented you really can't help... More

Have just returned from an enjoyable birthday weekend at the Halfway Bridge Inn. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and shown to our room (No 1) even though we checked in early. The room was lovely with a huge super king bed tastefully decorated in gentle colours, although a little cosy we had everything we needed. We... More

A group of us have been meeting here once or twice a year since 2005. 14 of us met up again 3 weeks ago and everything was as good as we have experience before. Excellent service, excellent food. They even arranged a table outside at the back as it was such a hot day and made no fuss when we... More

Stayed here as a small group (2 couples) as we had traveled from London to attend the final race day at Glorious Goodwood. The inn had a lovely pub and the rooms were set a short walking distance in a barn building. We really enjoyed our evening meal and thought the food was delicious and to a high standard. Awesome... In recent years I have visited this restaurant several times and found the overall experience to be good. The kitchen has always produced a good standard. The management staff has recently changed,(it was 2 south African girls), which is a pity because they ran a very tight ship! The young staff on my recent visit do not do the reputation... More
