We stopped in the detached former stables in Room 4, very good and well decorated and appointed, great breakfast in the mornings in the hotel which is about 50 metres away down a short lane, not so good if raining but still worth it. Staff very helpful especially the Italian gentleman who was on breakfast duty whilst we were there.... More

I found this fantastic inn in my quest for somewhere different to stay on a regular business trip. It is rather understated but brilliant, comfortable, almost luxurious accommodation at a very reasonable price. The food is excellent. The stars are the staff. Very welcoming in particular the restaurant manageress who was a real 'Ray Of Sunshine'. I will definitely stay... More

My last review of this establishment was in May 2012 when we found the place in total disarray due to new proprietors. who with no electric power could only serve cold food and we said never, never again Two weeks ago my wife and I just wanted to go somewhere for a beer, bar snack and sandwich and chose Halfway Bridge... A group of 6 of us - 3 couples - have just enjoyed 2 wonderful evenings at the Halfway Bridge Inn. Our experiences exceeded expectations. The other reviews were not wrong...this is a truly excellent pub/restaurant with rooms. The friendly and accommodating staff went out of their way to ensure that we all had a relaxing and indulgent time. The... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in order to walk the south downs way. The Halfway Bridge hotel was simply stunning both in food and rooms in every way. Friendly service, cosy modern rooms, amazing food and a quiet location away from the road. Room #1 had a massive bed too. booking was easy and breakfasts were everything you could want... More

Had a lovely evening with friends here: the ambience was spot-on for a relaxing meal. The eating area is divided into a number of alcoves, with a few tables in each, giving an intimate feel and a welcome warmth on a wintry evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service discreet and professional. For me, the menu was... More

Stayed here for a weekend away from London. We ate in the pub twice and enjoyed it, the staff were very friendly. The rooms are in a converted stable block a short walk behind the pub. This means it feels very peaceful since they're also set away from the road. Our room (#6) was spacious and had floor to ceiling... More

Extremely comfortable and well appointed room (number one) in the detached former Cowdray Estate stable block a short walk from and behind the inn...and away from the main road resulting in a quiet situation. Fresh milk already in the fridge along with bottled water, and real coffee for the cafetiere. I personally prefer a double bed rather than two zipped... More

What a great find - staying here on business - very cosy bar and was made to feel very welcome from the start, great food, local produce and cooked with attention. Fantastic rooms and a very comfortable bed!! Can't wait to come back here again!
