On the way home from the Goodwood Festival of Speed we stopped off for supper at Badgers (we had spotted it on the way out and it looked right). It was right, and we had a good meal. Well cooked, well presented, well served, nice pubby atmosphere, everything you could wish. But... I ordered crab. Having enjoyed a sheltered background... More

My partner and I had a one night stay here this weekend and it was very pleasant indeed. We were greeted upon arrival- shown to our room- the courtyard, and asked if we would be requiring a table for dinner and also what time we would like breakfast- very friendly service. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal- situated in the... More

Two nights here after visiting Petworth House and Brighton. Fabulous room and truly great cooking (and we're fussy!). Where else could you get Dover Sole - caught a few hours before and the size of a dinner plate for £18?! Imaginative (and not over extended) menu. Lovely owner/manager in Jules - she (and her staff) know how to make you... More

Stayed the night here before an old girls' reunion up the road. What a fabulous place. I don't think there were many other people staying but the pub was just buzzing with activity. We had a super little table in an alcove so we could people watch with ease and everyone seemed to be having a lovely evening. I had... More

We have stayed in many Pub B&Bs in England and this one is head and shoulders over others. We stayed for two nights. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. We had asked for a quiet room which is what we got in the centre of the two other rooms ("Courtyard"). It was a large spacious room with separate... More

Stayed one night and wished it had been longer. We had a large uniquely designed room which felt really different, natural wood and a huge bed - it reminded me of west Texas, such a relief after all the standard rooms around in hotels now. The pub is beautiful and intimate with a garden by a stream and meadow where... More

Great food, great staff, great value....that's it really!!! I went there with friends/family. The menu was very varied and interesting. We all had bubble and squeak with beautiful home cooked ham, it was described as 'light lunch' it was enormous and very tasty.

We visited on an evening when staff were thin on the ground in the kitchen (only one chef) and were delighted with every aspect of our meal. The menu is cleverly compiled, with a selection of tapas available in addition to starters and mains. This gives the diner a wider and more interesting choice of options. The standard of cooking... My sister in law and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of Apr. We had the rooms called Rother and Courtyard, both were very roomy and very different from each other. Both had Nesspresso m/c's as well as fresh milk in the fridge which also complimentary water and juice. The staff and landlady were very charming and... More

An overnight stay here, while attending a private function in nearby Petworth, was a very pleasant surprise. The charming landlady has thought of everything, her rooms are comfortable and well appointed, all the staff welcoming and friendly. Our room, the Rother, named after the river which runs by the property, was very clean and fitted with everything one could wish... More
