We went for a meal at the new Pass restaurant. it was fantastic and I would recommend this to anyone. The food, service, wine and surroundings were unbeatable. This is an incredible treat and I will be coming back. The staff are young and vibrant and the price is expensive but when you come to pay it feels very reasonable... more

We booked this as we had booked a trip and meal on the Bluebell Railway, and wanted a reasonably local hotel to stay at afterwards. As we booked in advance, we had to pay full rate - but it was worth every penny. It has just had a £2 million pound revamp and is beautifully designed in every way. We... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night in August and were quite disappointed, mainly with the service. We booked a junior suite with dinner, bed and breakfast via golfbreaks.com, which offers good rates at this hotel. The hotel is a short drive from Mannings Heath Golf Club - a nice club with two 18-hole golf courses... more

I visited South Lodge in 2005 for a big family lunchtime meal (a 50th birthday celebration). Our group was large, 14 people, and we were given a separate room so that we could all sit at one table - we had 4 waiters to ourselves! The food was excellent, rather fancier than what I normally go out to eat. We... more

My partner and I have been staying at this hotel twice a year for the past 6 years. We keep going back because we are yet to find anywhere else within an hour of London to escape to and relax. We use our overnight stays for complete indulgence. Hot tubs/Rain Showers/ 4 Posters/ Amazing Room Service/Complimentary Cookies and Port/Fine Dining!... more

Stayed for one night when attending wedding reception. Eventually after a bit of pushing, we got a special deal for the night, due to attending the wedding. It was a shame we were not told about 'deals' that could be had up front. It was only offered when what I thought was an excessive room price was turned down by... more

We booked a last minute overnight stay. Had been to functions at the hotel before but never stayed over. Booked on hotel's on website. They have a 'my bags are packed' late booking rate which is far cheaper that laterooms.com. The reception staff were very friendly and checking in fast and efficient. The room was absolutely lovely. We were given... more

We have just spent my birthday at South Lodge and I completely agree with the review by Oscarbradfordonavon. We booked the Sunday night package for £200 DBB. This is worth every penny. The check in staff were lovely and cheerful - upgrading us to a junior suite. (I had told them when booking that it was my birthday) The room... more

Total food and overnight costs would seem expensive by central London 5 star standards, stayed due to lack of quality hotels in Horsham area, which seems to be their main driver for pricing (lack of competition).General accommodation was okay, but seem to have staffing issues as the receptionist was abrupt and the bar service, slow and pompous. My next trip... more

My brother had his wedding here in mid november, and gosh what a drop in standards from my own wedding back in 2001, also held at South Lodge - cold and below standard food, very surly staff, agressive chasing of bills, complete lack of the personal touch so synonymous with this establishment a few years ago. It would appear they... more
