A One night wedding stay, wonderful staff bar food was good and accommodation superb. The grounds were spectacular. A picky point but security meaning the old fashioned key entry could be improved. PS don't miss out on the great pub opposite

We stayed for one night as a special treat. The room was great, the bathroom luxurious and the view from the window of the hotel grounds and South Downs wonderful. We dined with friends in the Camellia restaurant and were underwhelmed. The service was not what you would expect from a 5 star establishment, the food unexciting and certainly not... More

We have stayed here several times since 1999. Each time having a different room. This was the first time we had a room in the new wing. We were not disappointed. We were up graded and we had a lovely room overlooking the terrace and parklands. Always nice here to have tea/coffee facilities in your room. A lot of the... More

Second time we have stayed here and it was even better than before. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and really make you feel special. We have a suite with a terrace on the lower ground floor, it was fantastic. The bathroom was spectacular with a dual shower and his and hers sinks, a particular favourite feature of... More

Excellent service, taken to the bar first where we had G&T , then escorted to our table in the Camellia Restaurant, a surprise taster of Pumpkin Soup, followed by an excellent starter of Belly of Pork, we had Roast Beef as our main course, followed by an excellent Mango Mousse. Coffee of our choice, with Macaroons, we had a bottle of... More

I stay at many hotels globally but South Lodge has something that many lack and it is called "class" I regularly use South Lodge for business and I have never had any reason to complain because the Staff are Attentive, The food is good and the general feel of the building is amazing.

We were recommended to stay in this hotel by Nyetimber who we were visiting. We dropped off our luggage and car en route to travel over to Nyetimber. What a warm welcome from the lovely Ellie, who speedily checked us in and gave us a tour of this lovely homely country house hotel. On our return after a delicious chilled... More

Well, what can I say... Me and my fiancée booked a night to stay at the south lodge, to celebrate our engagement. When making the booking I filled out the part where it asks for any requirement. I simply told them we were celebrating our engagement and when arriving at the hotel, they gave us the brilliant news, they'd upgraded... More

I was made to feel welcome and at home from the moment I parked amongst the Astons and Bentleys, with impeccable service and hospitality. A formal meal was excellent. my room overlooked a walled garden and was a tasteful conversion - a huge space excellently used and enough fruit to fulfill my 5 a day for a week.

Dear Amhurst99, Thank you for your lovely words following your recent stay. Our restored walled Victorian kitchen garden is a wonderful asset. Paul, our Head Gardener and Lewis, our Executive Chef work together to ensure year round produce for the kitchen. The kitchen garden even has 6 of our own Sussex Chickens for eggs. It is certainly worth a visit.... More
