Stopped in this b and b whilst visiting family. The pub was very nice with a large beer garden. Was a decent price for the night and very accomodating staff as they had sold out of family rooms so put an extra bed in the double room so we could stop with children. Was very clean throughout and the breakfast... More

The pub was average in comparison to other Hall and Woodhouse Pubs we have experienced. Bedroom 2 was very basic and requires a lot of love to bring it up to a high standard. Curtains tatty, en-suite needs a complete makeover, especially the shower. Bed cheap and uncomfortable and there was little attention to detail when the room was painted.... More

Well done The Bent Arms on your recent refurbishment. I live close by and I'm sure the investment has been worthwhile as trade seems to have picked up considerably. We have been for drinks with the kids several times, after giving it a miss for the past 3/4 years, because it was so unwelcoming. Unfortunately, was thwarted when I tried... More

The Bent used to have a bit of a reputation based on its chilly, Artexed interior with a bizarre collection of miserable brasses and an ancient carpet. But now, walls and floors stripped and atmosphere cosy, it can allow the very high quality of its food finally to shine. The menu titles suggest very ordinary pub grub - 'vegetable stroganoff,... The Bent Arms has had a makeover and it is a big wow, the lighting is much improved the original flooring in the restaurant has been brought back to life the beams have been made lighter in colour the furniture is fresh and the place is warmer. There is a terrific buzz in this beautiful village pub since it has... More

Oh dear, a friend suggested we meet at the Bent Arms, and it has a nice big car park. I used to enjoy visits there a few years ago, but I didn't expect that we'd have to keep our coats on. From 12.15 to 2.40 when we left, the heating hardly cranked up and the bar staff said they could... More

Stayed here for one night. As other reviewers have said the accommodation really needs a big refurbishment programme to bring it up to date. The decor was tired and old fashioned, and the ensuite tiny. However, the room was clean and warm, and breakfast was good. Wouldn't go out of our way to stay here again, but for a single... More

We stayed in the family room with our 15 month old son, we'd requested a cot and they had said that would be fine but when we arrived they didn't have one and initially said there was nothing they coud do!! Room was old fashioned, carpets filthy and old. Exposed pipes. In dire need of refurb. Only staff were in their... More

The bedroom was very tired and in need of a make over. HOWEVER it was spotlessly clean and just ok for the one night. The restaurant was a real revelation with fabulous food/service and incredible value in the evening although having high expectations, breakfast was a disappointment.

"I think room 7 is on the left. If not there's not many rooms up there so you should find it" That pretty much sums up my stay at The Bent Arms. The landing/hallway was cluttered with ironing boards, laundry, staff coats etc which only somewhat detracted from the carpet which was long past it's sell by. My room was... More
