I have known this hotel for the past 40 years, way before they opened a Spa both for use by guests, and local members. It was a beautiful hotel, in lovely grounds five minutes from the sea, somewhere to relax and recharge away from the hustle and bustle of life. The restaurant served the best food in the area, and... We had two rooms for one night - clean, comfortable, fun features such as heavy wooden doors. We had lunch on arrival, and breakfast before leaving. All quite delicious. We used the sauna, pools and jacuzzi - great to be able to enjoy a heated outdoor pool late in the day in England. There were quite a number of children... More

Had the morning spa experience which included one treatment and a 2 course lunch in the hotel restaurant. It was a brilliant experience which included the use of all their facilities. The massage was one of the best I have ever had. Good value for money and I would definitely recommend this hotel

The location, particularly if the sun is shinning is wonderful. You can't see the sea from the hotel but it is a 5 min walk from Climping Beach and the whole setting is peaceful and filled with sea air. One surprise is that the hotel is less than 100 years old but you would never know and be utterly convinced... More

Positive -Very good location, lovely setting and gardens. Spa and pool was lovely. Nice restaurant with good food, although very expensive. Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. Negatives - Rooms were not very big and not well equipped. Wrongly advertised and pictures shown on net were not the room we were given. Wardrobe in Bathroom, not a good place. Plumbing... More

Just returned from a fabulous 5 day break, complete with dog. Yes hotel is quirky, but so welcoming and homely and nothing is too much trouble. Staff friendly and helpful. Particular note has to go to Matt and Sharon who go out of their way to make things work smoothly. Under the leadership of Chris Alger, his team have got... More

We visited this establishment for the second time at the weekend with a discount voucher for 25% off. Our pre lunch drinks all came as doubles (not appreciated until the bill came). I think this is very naughty especially if there is a designated driver who can only consume one drink. When our lunch arrived, the fish was served on... More

The beautiful landscape/grounds in which this hotel is set is the first thing that really makes the place stand out. There is a feeling of pure tranquility and remoteness from everyday life. The fact that the rooms are set out in different buildings from the main reception, further adds to the sense of character and style. Our beds were extremely... More

We wanted to treat ourselves for a weekend away but also to treat our dog. Overall this was a success. The hotel is right by the beach and the hotel provided a towel, treats and toys for the dog. Our room was quiet and we weren't worried about the dog disturbing others. The spa was lovely. The problem was the... More

We were attending Glorious Goodwood and looking for somewhere special to stay within half an hour of the racecourse. Bailiffscourt fitted the bill. Certainly the location is good and the grounds and wonderful architecture of the buildings promise a lot. So why only 4/5. The interior of the hotel and the rooms are traditional and comfortable, but not really luxurious.... More
