I stayed here for work a couple of weeks ago. The hotel is quite dated and could do with a face lift. The first room I was placed into was not clean. The bathroom had hairs all over the floor. I was able to be moved and the staff were lovely, but it's not worth the money in my opinion.

What a great hotel . Family wedding n this hotel rolled out the red carpet. Literally. From booking in to breakfast the next morning . Great food n unbelievable value for money . For a large hit its spotless . Would recommend it to any one who is looking for a wedding venue.

Stopped at the Roman Way after a very long day. Arrived at 9:40 pm but they had finished serving food. Fair enough. Lots of parking space. Fine check in and staff. Corridors a little tired on the way to room, but not too bad. Room was O.K. but again a little tired. Bathroom very good, clean and big enough towels.... More

Been at family party before - all function rooms and toilet areas impressive so booked in while down south for family funeral - 260 steps from reception to dismal bedroom right at back of hotel. Windows filthy, bars on windows - shower poor, kettle dirty, one dirty tea spoon, plastic tumblers in toilet. Beer in bar - disgusting. On the... More

Looks OK from outside. Inside tired looking and dated. Surprisingly comfy bed, clean bathroom and quiet. Food I suggest you should give a miss unless you want very bland meals with large portions. Breakfast OK and reasonably priced. Why do they use tables which are only just bigger than a plate? Beat me! Was it worth £60+ . I don't... More

Have just spent one night in this hotel as part of a group. Rooms are small and a bit old fashioned but have everything you need - tea and coffee, hairdryer and are clean with a great shower. Amazingly, although there was a wedding there Saturday night, we did not hear a thing. Breakfast was the usual - help yourself... More

Stayed for 2 nights early in May, great location but a hotel this size needs plenty money spending on it. Room was ok but bathroom was a bit poor, clean but poor. Food was ok and staff very good. Nice big TV in restaurant but could not see it unless eating in the restaurant and limited seating around the actual... More

The other reviews sum this place up.. run down, in a poor state, . The only two good things about this place are.. its cheap at £56 per night and the food is Ok- as good as any pub food found locally. Don't stay here if you can. If the place was done up the potential would be good.

It's certainly not the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but it was OK for the price. Just wanted a one night stay, for a reasonable price. The room was a long walk from the reception, but it was clean and tidy. Bathroom with bath and shower. 2 local pubs. We ate at the Beefeater pub/restaurant on the roundabout, 5... More
