This had been booked for a special anniversary, so my partner decided to go for somewhere a little more special. After booking a golf and spa break, my partner was told there were no tee off times available, despite calling weeks in advance of our stay to arrange his round of golf. The hotel looked like a standard budget hotel... more

First things first, the golf courses were excellent and a real test of your ability. Before i arrived i had envisaged a high quality hotel befitting the Golf Courses name. I was rather disappointed. The rooms were average and in need of refurbishing. All the drinks were expensive with no offers. The was not enough staff to cope with the... more

I cannot comment on the hotel as I choose not to stay here, however I did sample various "edible" delights at the event I attended here. I can happily say in my years of staying all over the world I have never, ever been served such revolting, disgusting slop as at this place! Being vegetarian I ordered a veggie meal... more

The Belfry is living on reputation alone. I have stayed in better standard Travel Lodges than this hotel. The rooms are terrible they are small, dated and the quality of furniture including the bed is very low standard. The bathroom's look tired and old and in need of a refresh. However this wasn't the worst of it the worst thing... more

Rooms were very clean, plenty of places to eat with something to suit every taste. If you are not driving can be expensive if you are relying on Taxis. Grounds are beautiful squirrels, ducks everywhere . If you want breakfast I would go early or you will have a wait. But it was definately worth the visit. more

I went to the Belfry as part of a small hen party for the weekend. We arrived on Saturday after 2pm to be told that our room wasn't available yet - we guarantee rooms will be ready from 3pm. No information from the receptionist about the check-out time, facilities at the hotel, breakfast or anything else that may have been... more

I had read some negative reviews before booking but felt it was worth another try. We had a very brief stay earlier in the year. Absolutely no problems. We had a suite, the staff couldn't do enough for us, food excellent and a very nice feel to the place. If you're playing golf I would say upgrade to the PGA... more

Arrived at reception and checked in with no comment at 4pm. Went up to room to find that the beds had not been made and there were no towels or bed linen. Returned to reception to be told there had been a machine break down at the laundry supplier and the hotel had no linen or towels and all the... more

Let's start with the positives. The golf course is great. Really much much better than expected. So many people say that it is the best 2 hole golf course in Britain and that's just not true. There were many other great holes on this course and the condition was outstanding. The rough was maybe a little long given the number... more
