Had a very good stay - for the amount paid the room was excellent - you can't expect giant sized rooms in an old coaching inn and despite what some others say the room was not tacky at all. Nice view over the high street. This is a town centre hotel and you cannot expect complete peace and quiet -... More

We booked at the George for a two night stay. Only stayed one night! Cannot fault the staff one bit. They were great. Also the breakfast was brilliant. The hotel itself lets the whole experience down. Tacky themed rooms dark dingy. Honestly who want to look at giant asparagus above your head!! Felt like we were in a restaurant not... More

We booked this short break deal as it was a good base to explore the Cotswolds. The staff were very friendly and the food and service were excellent. The hotel was tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the building. Our room was very hot, but this was probably due to the heatwave at the time of our visit.... More

The most memorable thing about the hotel was the staff. They were welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel and rooms were full of character - OK, so the floor sloped like a hillside, but that added to the old-village-inn charm of the place. As the hotel is right in the middle of the town and facing some shops, there... More

We have just visited this Hotel last day of July and first day of August 2014. We had the most wonderful time - for us, the third time we have been here this year!!!! Delicious food, friendly and professional service and a real buzz to the whole Hotel. Our cousins from the USA and our friends also enjoyed this special... More

My wife and I stayed in the Raspberry room for three nights in August. The bed was comfortable but we found the bathroom very inconvenient. There was no shower but a roll top bath with a hand shower that was not working! We wanted to be moved to another room with a shower but none was available as it was... More

We loved this hotel! We found the George through Amazon Local and were amazed at the quality of food, service and accommodation. We had a really relaxing night away with drinks in the bar (which is also like the local pub) and then an incredible meal in the open and airy restaurant. The service from booking to checking out was... More

Stayed at The George for two nights, 6th & 7th Aug. Our room was lovely, well kept and clean, the hotel was charming and all the staff were so cheerful, helpful and attentive. They all work so hard together and run the hotel very efficiently making this a very special and comfortable stay for us.

We stayed for 2 days midweek in the Chilli room, staff were excellent nothing too much trouble, breakfasts of voice and good food. We had one evening meal in the hotel which was good too. Would highly recommend this hotel with its lovely character
