I also booked a room through Hotels.com and on arrival was told the hotel had no record of my booking. We waited a long time to park the car because the car park was full, we then carried our luggage through to reception and eventually when someone dealt with us we received the news that they didn't know of us... My partner treated me to a two night get away gift experience as a Xmas present. We chose The George as Shipston on Stour looked like a nice town to stay in and we also wanted to visit Warwick Castle. When we arrived, we were quite happy with our choice as the bar and restaurant looked very nice and once... More

I booked a night's hotel at the George as a friend was having a 50th birthday party. I booked through Hotels.com and received my email confirmation. However, when I turned up at the hotel they claimed to have no record of my booking and were completely full. They did ring around and source me a nearby bed and breakfast, but... More

My father in law bought us a voucher for Christmas for a 2 night stay in the Cotswolds - we picked the George after researching other hotels and extended out stay by 2 nights totalling 4. The staff were really understanding about this and worked it so we got the best deal which I found extremely helpful. We also asked... More

We booked the George on a 'voucher' for 2 nights B and B and it was excellent value for money. I guess we had the one of the smallest rooms but it was quite big enough, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was a choice of continental or full English which I had. On both mornings I opted for smoked salmon... More

A lovely old hotel with modern interiors. Our room was the huge Chilli Room made into a twin for my cousin and myself on our 'merry widows' week end. Fabulous big bathroom, great towels and good quality loo roll and a loo brush which can be sadly lacking in some hotels. Very comfy beds and pillows and the room was... More

We stayed at The George in Shipston-On-Stour on Feb 16th, and fabulous it was. From the warm welcome on arrival, to the quirky, warm, cosy Scallop room, to the delicious homemade pizzas (especially with the 2 for £10 offer on Mondays, although still great value even if we'd stayed on a different day), welcoming bar with great ales on tap,... We stayed at the George in early March 2015 as part of a £99, 2 nights B&B Buyagift deal. We were in the Popcorn room - a very compact an bijou room that had everything you needed. A comfortable bed, tea making facilities, TV and a lovely bathroom with drench shower etc. Ate there on the first night - food... More

Stayed here on 28/02/2015 for one night, had a lovely room (marsh mellow), and had Bed, Breakfast, and 3 course dinner with a bottle of champagne for £137. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, and being right in the heart of the town was an ideal location

We had a Wowcher bought for Christmas for an overnight stay - it was lovely - staff really helpful and rooms didn't have numbers, but were names of food - so signs were foods and little things in the bedroom (cushions etc...) were of the food. Breakfast was included for us and the full English Breakfast was spot on. Definitely... More
