We spent our first night of a .3 day walking trip here. The White Bear is situated bang in the center of town so handy for all facilities & transport connections. It's an old building with an attractive facade but been modernized to some extent inside. Our room was above the public bar with a big bay window overlooking the... More

Stayed here for 1 night as a group of 10 girls for a wedding of a friend. We couldn't have been more welcomed, they organised early check in for us and then found taxis out to the venue and to pick us up again even though it was the last night of Shipston's Proms festival and most companies were booked... The White Bear was undergoing major refurbishment when we arrived, so difficult to judge it under normal circumstances. The room we were given had been recently renovated and was good, though lacking a little in shelf-space in the bathroom, hooks in bedroom etc Cleanliness good. The chef we were told was unwell - another nearby fantastic pub with great food... More

We recently spent one night at the White Bear as part of a walking holiday. I can only describe the experience as ‘awful’. The rooms were dirty, there was a layer of dust on the towel rails, the bathroom floor was a different colour where some parts had been partially cleaned and other parts not. Whilst the pillow cases were... More

My friend and I from glasgow stayed at the white bear for a period of 3 weeks while working locally. After reading some of the previous comments and felt the need to air my experience. We stayed in room 3. Bathroom was clean with plenty hot water and fresh towels everyday. The room was clean and enjoyed the view of... More

My family and I had an excellent stay here. The facilities are clean and usable, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to not feel cramped. The staff was the crowning jewel of this Pub. Both of them were friendly and open to conversations, even providing us with plates when we brought back take-away from another restaurant.... More

There are no frills but everything you need to get a good night's sleep followed by a hearty breakfast. Staff are friendly and this is a pub so there will be a bit of noise maybe. The pub is right in the centre of Shipston on Stour so convenient and close to everything you need. We had a lovely evening... More
