Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. Comfortable bed and clean room. Unfortunately the Friday night karaoke in the bar was deafening in our room. Had we been made aware of this we could have adjusted our travel arrangements.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming and will do anything they can to help. The room was well decorated and the bed very comfortable. A hair drier was provided along with tea and coffee facilities. There was a good choice at breakfast and the food was well cooked and nicely presented. We have already booked another visit.

We stayed for just one night on way through to Devon.Found the front bedroom we were in a bit noisy as it overlooked the busy street. The room we were in, room 3 was right at the top of a flight of 27 stairs, so no good for people with walking disabilities. In fairness the bedding was very clean as was bathroom.... I booked the room via email and was dealt with online efficiently. Upon arrival we were led to the room by a friendly member of staff. The room was very clean and well presented. The sheets were crisp and clean and the bathroom was very good (excellent power shower). The breakfast was of excellent quality and quantity and the manager/landlord... More

Comfy Stay, Stayed on business midweek a busy little hotel with a rest/pub underneath the main bedroom area , an old hotel which has been refurbed to a good standard with some old style fixtures and fittings. Needing a bit of attention but mainly some wear and tear signs good breakfast and value for money.

We needed somewhere for family to stay locally as the house was full, so chose the white bear. Must admit with a very fastidious mother I was worried. I needn't have worried. Wendy and Jan were very welcoming and friendly as was Nina and the other staff. The breakfast was faultless and the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was very... More

Dining area was quite a contrast to the "tap room", where two large screen tv's showing sky/BT sport channel dominate. Reasonably-priced well cooked food (pan fried liver was perfect) was in contrast to most other Cotswold pubs in the area, which seem to cater mainly for the well healed clientele! Just need a good real ale on tap and this... More

The welcome at the White Bear is tremendous. We stayed over on Saturday night. The room was small but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We did find though that the bar downstairs was very noisy until 1am, although this was probably more noticeable on a Saturday night than other nights. Breakfast the next day was delicious, generous and freshly cooked... More
