No, not the hotel staff but rather the people whining about nonsense on this page. I have just spent an absolutely superb 4 days at this hotel whilst attending a course a couple of miles away. The staff are extremely friendly and never too busy to engage in a conversation - which is a bonus for the lone traveller. A... more

The starter of soup was little more than boiled potato water and very bland and the 'crusty' bread roll was rock hard. The main of roast beef was a disappointment as the beef was very... more

From beginning to end the stay was excellent. The service was superb even with a wedding function taking place we were not made to feel unwelcome. The hotel is beautiful, the room was lovely, the staff were very friendly & helpful. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Rugby. The evening meal & breakfast was of high quality and great... more

I stayed here the night before my wedding and the night off my wedding and I had a fabulous time. The room was a downstairs lounge and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The room service could have done with being a little swifter and the broken toilet seat was a bit of a hastle but apart from that it was... more

I got married at this hotel in March 2004, I love this hotel, i love the main building and the grounds, it felt like we had a country house for the day, by todays standards we paid very little for our wedding - approx £3500 in total, we got ,married here and had a wedding breakfast for 45 people and... more

Stayed overnight for a wedding, and outside of the wedding photos and reception, much of the rest was at Fawlty Towers standard: Check-in was supposed to be at 2pm, but when I tried to check in after 3 pm the receptionist conducted a telephone negotiation with Housekeeping about when our room would be available, which culminated in her (desperately saying)... more

We were staying for a wedding and after reading reviews on here didn't expect too much. However, we were in the main building (room 1) and it was excellent. A clean, tasteful room with nice views over the beautiful grounds and it had all the amenities you might expect from a 4* (apart from no gym or the like on... more

Stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel is an interesting old building with great features and makes a change from faceless chain hotels. The bedroom (room 26) I was given was an excellent size and well decorated. The only critisism I would have is of the bathroom it look 10 minutes to get hot water for my shower.... more

Bookings were made by my company as I attended a number of training courses. I can confirm that there are lots of weddings - marquees were continually being dis/mantled - why don't they just keep them up and save wedding couples a lot of money/ Summary of complaintes - - I was electrocuted in 1 room by the TV. The... more
