We stayed before in room 12 which needs a bit of Tlc, we have just stayed in room 40, much better. It's a two star hotel with a 4 star breakfast. Service is very good, very nice staff. WI FI now works in bedrooms. If you join the Free Club you get Free Breakfast. The bedrooms are quite well equipped... More

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit dubious about staying, but we needn't have worried. This is the second time in two weeks we have stayed. The receptionist was very friendly on arrival. The room was clean, admittedly they could do with a bit of maintenance but for£38 including breakfast you can't really go wrong. Very quiet... More

This is a budget hotel. For the price of about £40 per room per night you get a very comfortable bed, excellent shower with not so excellent small bath. Reasonably clean room, although quality of building/maintenance is not fantastic. Staff we're very helpful and polite. Pub/restaurant food was superb. And a carvery for £4.95. Was great value. I will be... More

Awful, just awful... Don't even think about staying here.... It has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The receptionist was quite ignorant to one of our party, the rooms are mustard yellow, one of our rooms the bathroom ceiling was falling in, felt dirty... It was awful... had our stay been longer than one night, we... More

From the moment I arrived I knew it was going to be a disaster! Old and tired buildings and didn't feel safe at all... Receptionist completely ignored me when stood in front of her waiting to be checked in. The room one had dirty clothes from previous guest left there, ceiling mouldy and damp, stained carpet just generally uncomfortable to... More

Stayed here weekend just gone. For £58 for a family food for the weekend I can't really complain. Yes the rooms could do with a lick of paint. But comfy beds tea, coffee and tv in room. Clean tails daily what more could you want. The cavery was nice good choice of veg and meat Will stay here again

The rooms definately require a make over... still (and has been for last 18mths) black damp marks on bathroom ceilings, and paint in bedrooms requires a freshen up. Only reason for staying is that at the price being so cheap you can put up with it for one night.

16 of us went for a meal to celebrate a colleague retirement - most of us opt for the carvery and I had the beef which was very tasty and you can select your vegetables from a wide choice on the carvery the roast potatoes were crusty and soft centre x everybody enjoyed their meal which was good value at... We came here for a carvery in the week and it was terrible, it was cold and there was not much food out which wasn't replaced. Service was terrible. It was quite busy that day but still not good enough. We will not be returning, we have found another carvery much nicer.
