We stayed here on a secret escapes deal. Our room was enormous and we were given full choice of the A la Carte menu. We do a lot of secret escapes and have noticed some places treating you differently, however not here. The meal was wonderful and hotel cosy and welcoming. We have already booked to return.

Charming little pub. Lovely room and bathroom. Although could so with little touch ups to make it perfect (such as painting). The bed was wonderful, comfiest I've ever slept in! Me and my partner were also really impressed by the food at both dinner and breakfast.

I visited the Howard Arms last evening and had a very good meal in a "cosy pub setting" the portions were very generous and well presented and were delicious. My vegetarian was good (slightly under sized portion) but my two companions were more satisfied with their meals.

I endorse the, generally, very complimentary reports on The Howard Arms. It is an attractive place and the food is more that just 'pub grub'. The calve's liver is obviously consistently good - certainly my wife enjoyed it. The venison and pheasant casserole would have benefited from a stronger flavoured sauce - but I concede that that is a subjective... More

We haven't been to the Howard Arms for awhile but it is always good. This time dinner with friends, these friends are from London and set high standards for dining out. I was a bit perplexed by the greeting this time as I hadn't sat down before I was being told the soup of the day but moving swiftly on...... More

Our whole weekend was fantastic. The pub is cosy with lots of country charm, a roaring fire greeted us and it was full of people having enjoyed a lovely lunch or just having a drink at the bar. Our room was beautifully decorated, dinner was superb, breakfast just as good and all the staff were attentive and friendly. Certainly somewhere... More

Lovely ambience, good service, open log fires, good food. Pub grub or more refined cuisine. Short but good wine list, recommend the Australian Shiraz. We only popped in for tea and had burger and chips - the burger was of good quality and very satisfying

Second visit to this restaurant, I thought the first time was great and had to go back to check it wasn't a one off. I'm glad to say it wasn't. Warm welcome, great service, friendly staff, lovely ambience and the lamb Sunday dinner was amazing. It was hot. Very tasty and looked fantastic. Credit to all of you that work... More

We had visited the Howard a few years ago with friends but only dined in the restaurant. However we were very impressed with both the food and service we received. When we decided to take a short break in the Cotswolds, the Howard was our first choice and fortunately they could accommodate us. From the moment we arrived the greeting... More
