Superb large room , hot and powerful shower, but let down by unfriendly staff and poor service at dinner on Sunday night, the fish was so over cooked we were not charged for it, this was very disappointing , however breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very pleasant in the morning

We have recently stayed for two nights in the Country Room, which as a previous reviewer has said is a good sized room overlooking the village green. The room was extremely comfortable with a bath as well as a shower. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Having a cafetiere to be able to make a real cup of coffee... More

Stayed here for 5 nights over half term with our 2 children aged 8 and 11 in z beds, we stayed in the Cotswold room which was lovely, plenty of room for the 4 of us. The beds were all comfy, the room was cleaned to a high standard and a lovely touch of homemade biscuits left each day gave... More

Stayed for just one night in the Country Room. Very comfortable and clean, room a good size with views over village green (we liked the touch of providing fresh milk in a thermos). Only one small negative comment is that the shower could do with updating, but not a problem. Dinner was excellent, with strong emphasis on local produce -... More

This place is great! Rustic, cosy and beautiful. The food was gorgeous and the service was excellent. Our room was called The Study, the decor was lovely and gave you all the modern touches that make your stay comfortable. It has a huge bed and beautiful bathroom with a lovely big bath and a separate shower. We loved it all... More

Stayed for 2 nights, wonderful room, very attentive staff, very good food. One small gripe, probably nothing they can do about it but internet connection is sloooooow!!!!. Will definitely be back, but probably won't bother bringing I pad 😀.

We have visited the howard arms on several occasions now for lunch and dinner. The food is FANTASTIC, home made, using local produce and is always amazing! The staff are super friendly and accommodating to any requests you make. There's always a lovely bustling atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Hope to visit again soon, can't recommend highly enough!

We had visited the Howard Arms once before for lunch and made a mental note to come back and stay. We're glad we did. We were complicated guests (two vegetarians travelling on bicycles - sounds like the start of a joke) but we had a really warm welcome. They made some space for our push-bikes in the store cupboard to... More

We have been here before and thought it was very good, sadly this time we were disappointed by the service. Firstly we had booked weeks in advance, two days before going there we received an email from them 'confirming our cancellation'....they then said they had no idea why this was sent!!!! Our table we booked for dinner for the two nights had... More

On the way back from a long weekend in Devon we decided to treat ourselves to a hotel stay after surviving the brunt of Hurricane Bertha after camping for Friday and Saturday. We picked Statford-upon-Avon as our destination as it wasn't too far from home, and went about looking for suitable lodgings. We came across The Howard Arms as one... More
