We stayed on the eve of my husband's 60th birthday which was a Sunday evening. We'd had a lovely evening in our home town on Saturday, spent with all our family and I hoped for somewhere quiet and relaxing where we could enjoy good food and home comforts. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the garden room which was... More

Well that was really worth it, a lovely twist on GB with cheese. They make it on sliced focaccia and serve with oils - gorgeous. I had lasagne which also comes with garlic bread. My wife had roast pork. Both were very nicely done. Wine and cider were both very nice. We will certainly go again. It was very busy... More

We came to this pub as we heard it was quite good and local to us. We went several Sunday's in succession the Sunday roasts were very hit and miss cold, certain bits missing from plates, we told the staff about the problems and they just struggled to even apologise! Still we persevered each Sunday waiting for the wow factor... More

Have eaten here before and was delighted to have the opportunity to do so again! The place was fairly packed for an early January Saturday lunchtime and we ate in the Restaurant area rather than 'the pub' itself - but they are both in one large and interesting - well decorated and furnished - space. The menu was attractive and... More

We stayed at the Howard Arms 1 night following a trip to the theatre in Stratford. Although we arrived quite late, we were given a warm welcome and shown to our room (the Garden room) which was really spacious and nicely furnished in a contemporary French chateau style. Breakfast was superb with everything freshly prepared and cooked to order -... More

My husband and I went to races at Cheltenham on New Years a Day and the spent two nights at the Howard Arms. We stayed in the Village Room overlooking the green. Lovely large room with sofa and chair and very comfortable bed. Food here is superb. Breakfast was amazing and evening meals worth every penny. My husband said draught... More

Although I've reviewed The Howard before (April 2014) and given it a glowing report, my partner and I have just returned from spending Christmas there and could not let it pass without recording just how enjoyable everybody there made it for us. We had The Country Room, a large warm, comfortable room overlooking the village green, and as it was... More

I have been a regular here for a few years now and always enjoy going back. We took a recently bereaved friend for lunch and had a nice time . We ate in the restaurant which was on the quiet side for a Friday lunchtime so in hindsight wish we'd eaten in the bar . Three of us had the... More

Superb large room , hot and powerful shower, but let down by unfriendly staff and poor service at dinner on Sunday night, the fish was so over cooked we were not charged for it, this was very disappointing , however breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very pleasant in the morning

We have recently stayed for two nights in the Country Room, which as a previous reviewer has said is a good sized room overlooking the village green. The room was extremely comfortable with a bath as well as a shower. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Having a cafetiere to be able to make a real cup of coffee... More
