arrived in the village early, and decided to find a pub for a drink before meeting with friends, came across this in the pouring rain the frontage looked really appealing entering the pub was so charming, the character of the old 15th century building was clear to see, but has been tastefully renovated to incorporate some modern style and comfort... What's not to like about this quintessentially typical village inn? Rambling layout with terrific well kept ales on hand pull & quite an eclectic menu written on blackboard which changes to suit local produce. It is worth the detour off the main road to enjoy a meal in this village inn.

I have not stayed at this hostelry, but I have visited it twice recently and have been impressed by the quality of the food and the beer that they have served me. The location is quiet and the pub itself is exceptionally cosy and welcoming, I visited in the cold of winter. I will certainly visit again.

Where to start?! The main problem was the shoddy breakfast service. We were the only people to have stayed so were alone at breakfast. The owners elderly mother served us. To be fair, this lady was pleasant enough but was unsafe to be carrying anything and in our opinion to be walking around the uneven floors and obstacles of the pub... More

Stunning old pub, restaurant with lovely rooms in this typical Cotswolds village - great outside areas, stunning food (one of the best steaks I have ever tasted) and really warm attentive family team. A template for how to run an excellent pub restaurant. Room was very comfortable. Excellent value too.

Stopped here on our way to broadway for a weekend away. It's a little gem. The menu seemed a bit kooky with Thai influences galore, but he food was gorgeous. We had a beef salad, deep fried halloumi and a pasta dish and all were tasty, well cooked and well presented.

Having been twice before to this charming pub, was disappointed to find the food not nearly as good as before - perhaps it was the usual chef's night off? Very mediocre indeed. Sadly, don't think we will return despite the friendly service and ambiance - perhaps better for just a drink.

quite off the beaten track and not somewhere you would expect to be served what you are but.....brilliant food, could not recommend enough. had a mutton salad (something rarely seen) and it was exceptional. Not massive in portion however excellently priced. no complaints.

Have just had lunch today in the Fox and Hounds in Great Wolford. It seemed a bit quiet when we arrived but it is a welcoming lovely old English pub. Had a really super lunch, enjoyed every morsel and fine coffee at the end. Obviously, the food was home cooked and fresh - superb curry and my son had succulent... More

This is a dream venue with a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Staff and locals alike were genial and genuine in their welcome. Our room was the one with the dormer windows you see at front on arrival. A large comfortable bed and separate bathroom with a huge bath provided all we wanted, including views over the fields. In the evenings we... More
