Adequate one night stay, not spotless in bathroom, but overall not bad. Quite noisy during the night, lots of single men smoking outside and making noise. Hotel probably in need of complete redecoration!

Booked this hotel without reading the reviews what a mistake absolutely horrible room with an awful smell. Old fashioned tatty room with broken features and dirty information pack. One paper thin towel in room. Previous occupants toiletries left in bathroom. Stairwells full of mud and lots of single men hanging around outside would certainly make me uneasy if travelling alone.... More

Read all the reviews under Terrible put them all together and keep far away from room 3 😱. My family live in the Lake District and came over to Washington to stay for a few days , because the house wasn't big enough I thought it would be a great idea to book into the campanile 25th and 27th December... With its locality to the A1 with its access to the Metro Centre was perfect. Also within walking distance of the "famous" Carvery which is perfect for eating and Breakfast et. Not too great for the hotel itself, but they seem to accept this with great grace! But Very Good Hotel

This is good basic accommodation with ample parking. Clean room but a bit cramped, had all you would need though. Wi-Fi is an extra charge unless booking is made via their own website, then it's free. Full english breakfast in the morning was very good.

There were things that I loved and things that I'd like improving here but the lovely friendly staff brought it up to a score of 4. My room was spacious and looked well equipped - nice size desk to work on, good size comfortable bed, enough hanging space and a (small) bath, which I don't expect for a budget hotel.... More

very basic. I needed a hotel close to Tyne tunnel that would take me in very late on a Friday night after a long drive, so B&B's were out of the question. This is functional and cheap. the rooms were small and tired, but perfectly serviceable for a few hours sleep. Only one plug point in the room, hidden beside... More

We stayed here just one for one night and it had what you would want from a hotel but it was a bit basic and could do with some renovation . Some bits seemed a little tired liked the decor and carpets . Bathroom was a little tired too but beds all clean and comfy and we slept ok. Staff... More

Came with group of friends overnight; rooms clean and staff pleasant. Food poor at evening meal but great choice at breakfast. Ok for one night and as ours was part of a package can't complain tbh. One thing was the towels were small and very thin and no hand towel in our room but overall good size rooms with coffee/tea... More
