You can't get too excited about a Travelodge on the A1(M). We stayed here the night before the Great North Run, so a very busy time of year for hotels in the area. Room needed a good refurb and perhaps a more thorough clean but at £30 for the entire family, it still represented very good value for money. more

Paid £15 for a night and it was great. Well located, nice room (even though it wasnt quite as good as some other Travelodges I have been to). It had a ood bathroom, TV, comfortable bed, wireless internet (at exra cost). At this price, you cant moan. I have stayed in more expensive hotels which are similar in quality. more

We stayed here as my grandparents live nearby . My boyfriend and I had gone up for my grandads 90th birthday celebrations. This was quite possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room stank of smoke and wasn't clean. The bed was hard and seemed small and it was the disabled room so we kept accidentally setting off disabled alarms. There was one, hard, thin pillow per person. When I asked for another... more

We stayed here for 5 nights in August having booked on the £26 per night rate. The room was typical travelodge and I have to agree with an earlier reviewer about the water pressure - it should really be more powerful. It was clean and far larger than the room in the Holiday Inn at Edinburgh which we stayed at later on. There were insufficient towels and no teabags when we checked in but that... more

I had never stayed at a Travelodge until they started doing the £10/ £26 saver rooms when I thought at that price I may as well give it a try. Having put my preconceptions aside I have been consistently pleasantly suprised by the chain. They are always clean, comfortable and good size and far better value than other budget hotels such as formule 1. This hotel is no exception. The 1st floor room on the... more

There are actually two hotels on this site A1(M) Northbound and Southbound, they respectively occupy two sides of a motorway service area, they are linked by a pedestrian bridge. There is no vehicle access to swap from one side to the other apart from going down the motorway and turning around at the next junction. reflect that. It's perfectly fine for a one night stopover if you are on a long motorway journey however. I... more
