My partner and his daughter stayed here for 5 nights The man on reception on check in was pleasant friendly and very helpful throughout their stay The room was a disabled room but very spacious and clean Stayed in other travelodges and have found them to be of poor standard. This one was really nice. Plus a bargain for £15 per night More

It's beside the A1. If you're driving north and you're too tired to keep going, it's a clean, fairly comfortable roof over your head for a night. Expect little and don't be disappointed. More

a bit dated but spacious enough and comfortable bed, carpets could do with a clean and corridors smelled of smoke from smokers being allowed too close to rooms, very pricey to get an earlier check in/late checkout and breakfast bags so I wouldn't bother More

Stayed here for a school reunion. We chose this hotel as we used to run over the motorway bridge as kids! Also was very close to where we were going out that night and our old school and houses. Hotel was basic and old fashioned. Probably not been updated since we were kids in the 70s! Rooms however were clean and comfy and the man on reception very friendly and helpful. Can't believe they still... More

The rooms are dated, not the best night's sleep when the springs are poking up through the mattress. Shower was a joke, really a trickle & impossible to regulate the heat of that! Quickly gave up & had to resort to bath. Room clean. Due to the location of this Travelodge, it was brilliantly handy for everywhere in the vicinity & was subsequently full. Not troubled by noise of the A1, but our room was... More

We (me, my wife and 8 year old child) stayed at the Northbound Travelodge @ Washingon over half term and I have to say its one of the better experiences we've had with this chain. The Travelodge is ideally located between Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland (providing you have a car its ideal) and about 2 minutes from the Angel of the north. The rooms were dated decor as expected, but clean and reasonably comfortable and... More

Had a 2 night stay with a friend to go shopping in Newcastle. Ideal location for Metro Centre. Warm and comfortable. Had obviously been refurnished from 2 years ago when we stayed. Friendly staff. The only warning I would give, is that a few days after getting home I received an £80 parking fine from MOTO. I hadn't noticed a warning on the website, and there were no obvious signs (to us). I checked on... More

I have to preface this review by declaring that I got my room at the northbound Washington Travelodge for under £45, but I'm tempted to describe even that as a rip-off. The room I got was large and warm, with a clean bed and new sanitaryware in the en-suite, but that's where the good news ended. The carpet was badly stained, one of the two chairs was in a very poor condition, the blind was... More

Only stayed one night but was good value for money and easy to find. Not many minutes in either direction for sightseeing. Didn't hear any traffic noise or other residents noise when coming in from their night out, don't find that too often!. More
