Over the past 4 weeks my wife's health had deteriorated markedly. So although we hadn't requested disabled facilities when booking I gave the Travelodge a call just a few days before arrival and Alison was extremely helpful in organising a ground floor room with wheelchair access. That took a lot of pressure off the trip - thank you! The room... More

We booked this Travelodge to visit Durham University's open day, for which it is ideally located. After a nightmare journey because of overnight A1M closures we arrived at 11 pm tired so it was good to have a clean comfortable room to crash in. Bed was good, free tea & coffee (& biscuits), receptionist was very welcoming & pointed out... More

+ The staff were friendly and welcoming + The bed was comfortable - TV didn't work properly - No air con, no fans, and the windows barely open - Paper-thin walls - No cold water from the shower at all (combined with no air-con, on a hot day...I resorted to buying ice from Tesco to cool myself down) - Hairs... Stayed at this hotel while up in the North-east to see the Foo Fighters concert at the stadium of light in Sunderland. The hotel was very clean and basic. The staff at the hotel were excellent, they helped us with every request we had. The only down side is that the hotel is right next to the A1 and sleep... More

We had an overnight stop here to break our journey to Scotland and were not disappointed. The young lady who greeted us was very friendly, helpful and offered advice on where to go and where to eat. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and comfortable, and we didn't notice the noise from the car park. Also you got free 30 minute... More

Very comfortable, well equipped and very pleasant staff the only thing wrong was the fact the A1(M) and a truck stop are no more than 100 yards away so don't go there expecting quiet from outside. Overall the staff were fantastic as was the room and hotel the only thing that was wrong was the noise outside.

The location was perfect for me and the rooms are impeccably clean and quiet despite so close to A1(M). Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's no frills but at that price you cannot beat it! Recommend.

This is a very convenient place to stay if visiting Newcastle. We had a lovely greeting at reception when we arrived, and nothing seemed too much trouble for her. The room was spotless and well equipped. The only down side is the noise from the lorry park. The room was hot if you closed the window, and noisy if you... More

This travelogue is situated conveniently on the A1 M northbound for visiting Newcastle and surrounding areas. Very modern, room and bathroom spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. friendly staff who were very helpful especially Shirley who took time to phone before we arrived to explain the parking situation.
