Stayed here with my husband for the weekend to attend a friend’s wedding. The wedding was a lovely event and the staff were very helpful at catering to our every need for a very fussy crowd (if I do say so myself). We were in a newly refurbished room which was very nice and clean and the breakfast the next... More

I stayed here before going to the Snow Patrol concert in the area. The hotel was above and beyond my expectations. My room was recently refurbished and the staff were helpful in arranging a taxi to the metro radio arena. Breakfast was great and overall I would definitely come back to this hotel when I next visit the north east! More

Stayed for 1 night for matinee theatre in Sunderland and glad it was only 1. As I am a light sleeper I had requested an upper floor quiet room yet we were allocated a lower floor room. The receptionist admitted she had no idea of the layout of the rooms as regards quiet rooms and after two more changes we... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to learn that your experience has not been as desired. With regards to your room the weather has been quite erratic. We have found that generally the rooms have been quite warm and so many radiator thermostats have been reduced to low. Of course guests have the option to adjust... More

Never have i had such a hideous experience in a hotel. My girlfriend and i wanted a little break and thought a night in a hotel may do us some good. Wow, how wrong i was. When we pulled up it looked like i had just entered dusseldorf with the cast of auf wiedersehh pet there! Bricks, mortar, hard hats... More

Dear Scott Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to learn that your stay with us was not favourable. There is a some building work along the long driveway of the hotel which is completely unrelated to the hotel and which is also entirely fenced off. I'm sorry that you have had issues with a member of reception staff... More

A complete disaster, too many people packed into a room, we booked for 7 people, given a table for 6 with one standing. The meal; ran out of food half of 200 people waited one hour, then food for provided for the hungry 100, scraps, left over, pigs swill. Man blowing up Balloons for children ran out of time, many... Dear Malcolm Thank you for your review. As discussed with yourself there was delay with food however there is no question over the quality of food. There do seem to be some inaccuracies with statements made as discussed in correspondence sent to you. Regards Neel Chawla More

Dear guest Thank you review. I believe your review relates to different rate options that are available on line. If a more attractive prepaid rate is chosen the booking is a non refundable rate which is described on the website. There are other rates available which do have more favourable cancellation policies. I hope this clarifies the charges made. Kind... More

Me and my wife stayed here and for what we booked did not match, for instance we booked a room which was standard king size bed which is definitely not in room 1!! Also it says the room would have free wifi and yet we had no wifi signal, the room itself was nice but when you are promised things... More

Room was lovely but a bit cold on the night time but thats maybe because its winter! Service was lovely and prompt and very pleasant staff and receptionists. Lovely quiet area but building houses opposite the hotel at the moment but very quiet on the weekends. Breakfast was lovely and so were the meals, well worth the prices. More

Not a bad hotel, rooms VERY hot, tried to make the hotel modern by giving rooms a facelift. Bar area and resturant like being in pub not a hotel. Looks very dated. Building site opposite which start work early. More
