Excellent site in every respect except that they charge £3 per night for a dog. Why? It did not use any of the facilities. Any waste was created off-site and deposited in external bins. It did not drink an excessive amount of site water. The justification for any charge is beyond me - particularly such an amount as this that... More

Traveled here with the family for Easter holidays, South shield has plenty going on for both young and old weather it's the brilliant fair ground or the lovely beach and by night there are plenty pubs cluds and restaurants. The caravan site was very clean well kept and in a brilliant location with plenty to do around our only problem... More

I stayed here for the Great North Run, as it is just at the end of the finish line. Price is double due to the run, and you need to book for 3 nights to be guaranteed a pitch, but well worth it (£50 a night, rather than £25). Toilet block was very clean and all tourers were together. The... More

We stayed at Sandhaven for the 2nd time this year and it was great. The pitches are clean and spacious with a hard standing area for the caravan and then a area for the awning and then grass. All pitches have water, electric hook up and a waste drain. The park is well maintained and the showers and toilet block... More

Late August 2014 - great three night stay at Sandhaven. Deputy Wardens on duty, great reception and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Touring pitch number 9, with electric, water and drainage all available. All facilities spotlessly clean. The children had a wonderful time on the beach, in the nearby park and on the shows. Unfortunately, one or two of the... More

The lady on Reception was very helpful & advised us where our pitch was etc. Nice sized pitch with water elec hook up etc. There is 3 toilets & 2 showers, the only thing I can be say bad about the showers is you have to keep pressing... Excellent facilities for tourers (lovely shower/toilet block). Very close to beach (scenery came in handy at 5am whilst settling my 10 month old baby). Great to see a low speed limit being observed around the park, Tried to get booked up over 6 weeks hols but couldn't :-((( don't worry booking for 2014 is already in hand as there are... More

Not much more to add to the other reviews immaculate park, far enough away from the fair etc to be quiet yet within easy walking distance. We had booked 3 nights in our tourer but wished we had booked longer, didn't want to come home. Apparently the park under went a 4 year re-vamp and has been opened for 6... More

Stayed here in our own tourer. Place was immaculate. Staff were very helpful as we did arrive early and they gave us out pitch early. Stayed here whilst at a concert in Sunderland (northeast live). Would defiantly visit again

Took grandson here for a weekend and it was one of the best sites Ive been on. Motor/caravan pitches all tarmac and level! Gravel parking and grass area for your unit. Tap and hook up between 2 units. Toilets and showers immaculate, in face the whole site is immaculate and a credit to the managment. A warm welcome from the... More
