We booked in January when we arranged travel to Scotland for the games. Arrived yesterday, they could not find our booking, then my husband showed them his name on their list and seems they gave our room to someone else, but we did get a room eventually. Poor tho' it was. Basic, tired, in some parts not clean, the bed... More

This hotel is basic, in the summer, try to avoid as it's too hot with the windows closed and too noisy with them open. Really needs a refurb as the rooms are getting a bit tired. Shower pressure was intermittent. Best thing about the hotel was checking out.

Stayed here for 3 nights as we used it as a base to visit family and friends in the area. Although road works were being carried out during the night in front of our bedroom the double glazing proved to be very efficient and we were not disturbed. Bedrooms are basic and ours comprised a double bed, a small TV,... More

Certainly "no-frills" but we didn't expect any. It did the job for a stop-over near Newcastle. It's by the junction of the A1 & A19 which we knew but no-one told us of the overnight road work going on. We weren't as disturbed by this as we feared but had to keep the windows closed. I think that Travelodge should... More

The Travelodge itself was perfect for what we wanted. Close to the A1 it was an ideal overnight stopover. The staff were friendly and the rooms were ok. There is a Little Chef close by and at night there was a lot of laughing and shouting just outside although that was not the fault of the Travelodge.

I always use this Travelodge when I need to be in Newcastle. It's located a few miles north of the city, but is only about 7 minutes drive from the Regent Centre where I park and take the Metro in to the centre, and charges about half the price of city centre hotels. It's basic of course, and I can't... More

Depressing room and disgusting toilet. Demolition would be the best action for this place. The room was cheerless and poorly equipped. Budget accommodation need not be bad but this place needs TLC very badly. Not worth the money (albeit not that much)

Found the hotel OK but it is very sad and needs money spending on it. Would not advise families use it as the 3rd and especially the 4th bed options are so uncomfortable, the springs dig into your body. Had to get extra duvets to use as padding to protect from the springs. Defo would NOT use the Little Chef... More

Due to my regular Premier Inn being fully booked we decided to give this hotel another chance. I must say it was a big improvement on our previous visit in 2013. Room although basic was clean and tidy with clean towels daily. Bed was comfortable enough with sufficient pillows for a decent sleep and we heard no noise. Reception staff... More
