Convenient location for exploring the area. Buses leave from just outside hotel. Very basic accommodation, and electricity pylons pass very close to the windows on one side of the hotel. Staff are very friendly and there is a burger king and little chef on site

OK, I know that Travelodge are what they are...cheap and cheerful short-term accommodation, but unfortunately Seaton Burn was neither particularly cheap, nor very cheerful. The room was tired and in need of refurbishment. Kid's beds were uncomfortable. Roadworks outside meant we could not have windows open, making the room very stuffy. It rained one night, and the gutter above the... More

Stayed here as a last minute stay and would def not be back! First thing is the road works outside working from 9pm to 5am! Bloody noisy but this isn't the hotels fault! Didn't sleep well due to the workers shouting and the machines operating! The room i originally got when i put the key in it snapped so was... More

Had to sleep with windows open as room was very hot - unfortunately there are major roadworks during the night at the moment. Sleep was extremely difficult and we ended up sleeping with the television on to drown out the noise. Not particularly clean either.

We booked in January when we arranged travel to Scotland for the games. Arrived yesterday, they could not find our booking, then my husband showed them his name on their list and seems they gave our room to someone else, but we did get a room eventually. Poor tho' it was. Basic, tired, in some parts not clean, the bed... More

This hotel is basic, in the summer, try to avoid as it's too hot with the windows closed and too noisy with them open. Really needs a refurb as the rooms are getting a bit tired. Shower pressure was intermittent. Best thing about the hotel was checking out.

Stayed here for 3 nights as we used it as a base to visit family and friends in the area. Although road works were being carried out during the night in front of our bedroom the double glazing proved to be very efficient and we were not disturbed. Bedrooms are basic and ours comprised a double bed, a small TV,... More

Certainly "no-frills" but we didn't expect any. It did the job for a stop-over near Newcastle. It's by the junction of the A1 & A19 which we knew but no-one told us of the overnight road work going on. We weren't as disturbed by this as we feared but had to keep the windows closed. I think that Travelodge should... More

The Travelodge itself was perfect for what we wanted. Close to the A1 it was an ideal overnight stopover. The staff were friendly and the rooms were ok. There is a Little Chef close by and at night there was a lot of laughing and shouting just outside although that was not the fault of the Travelodge.

I always use this Travelodge when I need to be in Newcastle. It's located a few miles north of the city, but is only about 7 minutes drive from the Regent Centre where I park and take the Metro in to the centre, and charges about half the price of city centre hotels. It's basic of course, and I can't... More
