Can't believe they charged me premium rate call to ring and book a room with them; will never book with them again, they don't deserve the business with tricks like this. Stayed here often 20 years ago but now is dated with poor restaurant and bar.

Very pleasant hotel in a lovely setting. The property needs a bit of attention here and there, but seems to be in new hands. Our room was absolutely fine (twin with shower): comfortable beds, nice big shower cabin, and all spotlessly clean.(And, yes, extra pillows in the deep drawer under the wardrobe space!) Decided to try the restaurant simply to... More

We took advantage of the overnight accomadation and free Denbies wine visit , but although staff were very helpful ,the meal in the restaurant was a disappointment owing, to the limited selection for us on a deal, two main items were unavailable and we had to pay a supplement for our selected meals, first time on one of our many hotel... This was the first time that we had stayed here and our first time in a Legacy Hotel so we did not really know what to expect. We arrived at about 13.00 which was an hour earlier than stated but we were given a room after being asked if we preferred a shower or bath. It was good to see... More

This is the fourth time my husband and I have stayed at 'Thatchers' - it is a very clean and quiet - the staff are friendly and helpful - this time we had a buffet style breakfast - which we thought was much better the last three times we stayed - just a small issue there were no side plates... We arrived at 7pm on Bank Holiday Saturday. Long queue to check in, no apologies when eventually reached front of queue. There was a big wedding in full flow, and we were told that because of that the restaurant would not be open until 8pm. We thought that was quite late but not a major problem. Dropped bags in room,... More

We stayed here for one night whilst passing through the area and, while there was an issue with the electronic keys and access to the rooms, I cannot fault this pretty hotel. The building is simply beautiful and has a lovely backdrop. The grounds are well-maintained and It is worth taking a walk around and breathing in some fresh air!... More

We stayed here Friday night as part of 60 guests returning from a nearby wedding. Given that the hotel knew that we would all be returning around midnight, you would have thought that a) they would have had someone on reception and b) that they might have anticipated that we would like a drink at the bar to finish off... I stayed here with my boyfriend back in June and had a reasonably good stay on the Friday night that we stayed. The room was clean and very well presented, however, upon entering the top floor i felt like i was going to pass out. It was like i had stepped into a greenhouse on a scorching summers day! We... Booked as a deal, including dinner and a visit to Denbies vineyard. We enjoyed our stay here and it was good value. The garden is a pleasant place for a drink, although there is noise from the road. The rooms are of a good size and well maintained, no air conditioning but there was a fan which was adequate. The... More
