Oh my goodness what a dump. I was supposed to be staying here for one night with my daughter but after seeing our room and the general state of the 'hotel' we decided to about turn and head home. I suggest they have the spelling of the establshment wrong and it should read Hostel not Hotel , because it resembled... more

I can't believe there are places like this that can call themselves a hotel and charge £80 per night! No service, and very poor security. Rooms beyond basic and filthy. No shower. Couldn't wait to leave. Did not risk breakfast but my husband said it was grim. more

Other reviews say it all. This is more like a labourer's billet than a hotel. Accommodation/ensuite facilities are at best basic, security is poor (a co-resident's room key opened our door!) and the establishment lacks the feminine touch. Breakfast is basic - cereals, sliced bread and tea/granulated coffee. There is a good cooked breakfast though. No cheese, yoghurts or fruit.... more

This place is grim. The staff speak little English, or at least speak very little and were generally not polite or welcoming. Our room had no functioning curtain and outside the window was the flue from the kitchens so 7am meant fried breakfast smell coming into the room. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else unless you are desperate. more

the write-up on the internet made it sound so nice and romantic but it was quite dissapointing, the promised original 17th century features were more 70's horrible baths and toilets, staff was friendly and helpful but not really interested , Breakfast was ok, as a romantic weekend defenately not, walls were paperthin and kitchen noises started between 6 and 7... more

didn't actually stay in the hotel, was shown to the room and it was dirty, smelly and generally disgusting, we complained to the front desk which was totally pointless, others were complaining at the same time, so we just left and found another hotel nearby more

The rooms I was offered in the annex were disgraceful. Dirty, cobwebby, ill-lit, threadbare carpets, and beds desperately in need of replacement. Shower room badly lit, no ventilation/extractor fan, torn and threadbare towels, no toiletries, no hairdrier. No safety features like a fire escape. Too late to find another hotel I stayed for two nights (I was attending a local... more

First impressions on the outside of the building are good. This is a converted barn off set from the main road. A little pony is grazing in the field opposite the hotel. You hope this is going to have an old fashioned country appeal We went into the reception and oh boy your hopes get dashed. The narrow reception is... more

I didn't pay a lot for B&B, however it was sold to me on a supposed heavy discount; I was led to believe that it should have cost £200 per night so I was expecting something reasonable - advertised as perfect for Romantic getaway and Business Hotel. HA HA! On a positive note, efficient check-in and check-out. Nice location and... more

I stayed 4 nights and only because i could get moved. Rooms are small and not very clean. You need to go into the bathroom whatever way you intend to stay as you won't get turned. There is no shower head holder or shower curtain. So while holding the shower head up you soak the floor and risk killing yourself... more
