Best hotel I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at multi chain hotels recently which are often noisy and not particularly clean but this is totally the opposite. It is so peaceful in my room (room 12 for 1 person ) and very clean which is based in the annex at the back of the main building. The dining... More

As always clean, friendly and peaceful. Probably the most quiet location of all accommodation in Tamworth , but still on the buzz of all thats good and happening in the town. Plenty if good bars and restaurants within walking distance. Buses and trains no more than a 10 minute stroll.

Another lovely stay at The Gungate. Susan is a friendly host and the rooms are very nice. Breakfast is local produce and very tasty. Would recommend to stay there if you are visiting Tamworth and surrounding area as Susan is very knowledgable about what is going on there

This hotel is situated about half a mile from the centre of Tamworth and provides easy access to the area in general. Run by the owner who lives on site, we were housed in the annex which is accessed via the car park. There is a flight of stairs to the upper rooms which are relatively easy to access for... More

ideally located, close to town center but just outside enough to be peaceful. Our stay was perfect. Sue (the owner) was accommodating and more than happy. The rooms are comfortable and most importantly clean and tidy. overall, it was a good stay and will definitely use again when i swing by that way

As I have stated in previous reviews I have been stopping out for three nights every week since April due to work. I have to say I really enjoyed my stay here. As I drove up the owner Sue was there to greet me with a welcoming smile. She then showed me to my room which was spotless and of... More

Great location near Drayton manor and town centre. Found the bar/lounge was locked quite often and wasn't made to welcome when asked to go into lounge as sue was either getting up for work in morning or if they were having their dinner. Their dog also snapped at my child as he was clapping it but they soon got rid... More

When we arrived we were unable to check in as no-one answered door or phone. When we returned later Sue was very apologetic regarding this. We stayed in room 10 (triple) which was well decorated and had a nice bathroom. When we booked we asked for Thomas bedding for our little boy and we're told this was fine. Disappointed this... More

Hi Thank you for your comments and I do agree that this guest house is not ideally suited for families in mid week with children under 2 staying in my coach house. I do have regular business guests that do not expect to hear screaming children and I am also sorry about asking your son to stop banging his knife... More
