My Partner and I stayed here Easter weekend just for a break away as my Partner was recovering from a bad chest infection. Sue was very attentive and went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent 5 star service, had everything we needed and breakfast was well worth it. Will definitely stay again, thanks again Sue :-)

Just returned from a two night stay at The Gungate after visiting Drayton Manor - only ten minutes away. I stayed with my 3 yr old in the twin bedroom and my parents had a double room. As promised, Thomas bedlinen was provided for my son's bed, which he was delighted with. Sue, the owner, was attentive and welcoming as... More

First time away as a family to a bed and breakfast. The family room was a great size and the large tv was a bonus. The breakfast was good and Sue accommodated our needs very well. Sue made us feel welcome and showed an interest in what our plans were. The sweets as we left made my daughter very happy.... More

I wanted to avoid the corporate style hotels for a short business trip to Tamworth. The Gungate is ideally located and very homely. The rooms are comfortable and clean. On site free parking is a bonus!

We booked two double rooms for a visit to family. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable nicely decorated. Location for us was perfect within walking distance to town and more importantly for us the family. Breakfast was lovely. All in all a very welcoming friendly comfortable Hotel. Well recommended.

Stayed here with our 3 year old son and used as a base for Thomas Land, Drayton Manor. On initial contact, the owners were very helpful. When we explained we were staying before a trip to Thomas Tank Engine Land, they offered to put a Thomas bedding on the bed for our little boy, which they did. We stayed in... More

We stayed here with our children aged 7 and 5, in the family room. The room was really well decorated, was very clean, and the beds were comfy. The owner Sue was very friendly and helpful and gave us some pointers on how to find things in the local area. Breakfast was delicious; we upgraded ours to a full English... More

Stayed one night while attending friends' wedding. Owner, Sue, very welcoming and friendly. Room spotlessly clean with comfortable bed. Big cooked breakfast in the morning cooked to perfection and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.
