Great location near Drayton manor and town centre. Found the bar/lounge was locked quite often and wasn't made to welcome when asked to go into lounge as sue was either getting up for work in morning or if they were having their dinner. Their dog also snapped at my child as he was clapping it but they soon got rid... More

Hi I am sorry you felt like this about your stay and did not say anything at all to me on checkout.I dealt with your parents most of the time and the first two night you had full access to the lounge and bar and yes unfortunately you came in early evening just as I sat down to my dinner.... More

When we arrived we were unable to check in as no-one answered door or phone. When we returned later Sue was very apologetic regarding this. We stayed in room 10 (triple) which was well decorated and had a nice bathroom. When we booked we asked for Thomas bedding for our little boy and we're told this was fine. Disappointed this... More

Hi Thank you for your comments and I do agree that this guest house is not ideally suited for families in mid week with children under 2 staying in my coach house. I do have regular business guests that do not expect to hear screaming children and I am also sorry about asking your son to stop banging his knife... More

It's where I stay if I go to Tamworth. Private off road parking, clean, comfortable and simple rooms, single through family. Breakfast as you want it at the time you ask, sit down on time and it's pretty much ready when you're ready for it. No fuss with odd arrival times.

We we're squeezed in at the last minute for a visit to relatives. On first calling, only a family room was available but when we arrived, a twin room had become free. As we're a couple, a twin wasn't really suitable but the owner had put the beds together and re-dressed the bed as a super-kingsize! Lovely nights sleep, with... More

Very comfortable hotel, ended up with a triple room with separate bathroom which was perfect for my daughter and myself. Well located for an easy stroll into the town centre Good breakfast Would recommend for an overnight stay

We stayed as a family of four after a day at nearby Drayton manor park. We had booked initially at the park hotel but the receptionist there was one of the rudest people I've ever met so we cancelled and found this lovely private hotel on the internet. Just a few minutes walk to the town centre, clean, good beds,... More

We had a great time here although it was only two nights, the beds are comfy and a great shower. Very clean and quite makes for a lovey time when away working, the bar area is great for a cup of tea or a nice cold carling 😃 Unfortunately I can't comment on the food due to the fact I... More

My Partner and I stayed here Easter weekend just for a break away as my Partner was recovering from a bad chest infection. Sue was very attentive and went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent 5 star service, had everything we needed and breakfast was well worth it. Will definitely stay again, thanks again Sue :-)

Just returned from a two night stay at The Gungate after visiting Drayton Manor - only ten minutes away. I stayed with my 3 yr old in the twin bedroom and my parents had a double room. As promised, Thomas bedlinen was provided for my son's bed, which he was delighted with. Sue, the owner, was attentive and welcoming as... More

First time away as a family to a bed and breakfast. The family room was a great size and the large tv was a bonus. The breakfast was good and Sue accommodated our needs very well. Sue made us feel welcome and showed an interest in what our plans were. The sweets as we left made my daughter very happy.... More
