I was so shocked at the state of the room, my daughter, husband and I decided we could not even consider staying in the room provided. The walls, furniture and bathroom were mouldy. The carpet was dirty and looked like it had not seen a vacume cleaner for a very long time. The kettle did not work and even though... More

We stayed here for one night on Saturday 6th September as we were attending a wedding in Abbots Bromley. When booking the hotel, we asked if we could check in about 12ish which is earlier than normal check in time (which is usually 2pm) because we needed to get ready for the wedding which started at 2pm. The man on... More

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding reception. The room was awful... we spent an hour before sleeping killing little flies and bugs in the room, spiders in every corner of the ceiling. Whilst closing the shabby curtains several spiders appeared, sheets were clean however the smell of sweat from the pillows was disgusting. We covered the pillows with towels from... More

Stayed one night in 'the annexe' walls were wet, you could see the damp coming through. You could smell the mildew and black mould. The car park was just potholes. Furniture was 'knocked about' and the TV was out of the Ark! The shower was an experience, took ages for it to warm up, and it wasn't a power shower.... More

Terrible beds, bad service, mildew on the ceiling. All in all a rubbish place to stay a false economy vs staying elsewhere. Dont ruin your trip, I know the chain hotels are somewhat 'soulless' and further from Cannock Chase forrest, but theyre worth it over this place

I stayed for one night last night. The first room I was given, despite being rather dated was perfectly clean and seemed OK. However, it was directly above the bar and I could hear every conversation word for word. The bar only had a few people in but the noise coming up through the cieling was terrible. I asked reception... More

I read the other reviews with dismay as I had been booked in here for a business trip. I am a really fussy person and very nearly cancelled the booking but other choices were limited on the required night. On a main road, easy to find. Dated yes, but it was clean, room was warm, shower ok, bathroom spotless. Bed... More

The hotel rooms are ok but that's the only negative - front of house staff are friendly, attentive and willing to help. A good English breakfast awaits and is served by a friendly, if quiet, man called Chris - a nice lad. Well worth the money and beats all the budget hotels (prem inns etc) hands down - if I'm... More

Stayed here 1 night booked last minute by my Employer. Very few positives about the experience.... The receptionist (come barmaid/waitress) was a very friendly person, chatty and personable. Food - evening meal was served in the bar, food ok, adequate and edible but otherwise not very remarkable. Bed linen and towels were clean. The negatives: Room had a slight odour... More
