I visited the Ye Old Dun Cow for a birthday meal on Saturday 23rd August and thought the ambience of the place the food and not forgetting the attentive staff were impeccable!! As part of a large group celebrating a 25th birthday we are seated at a table in an "L" shape which was great for conversation I ordered the... More

It is so refreshing to find an honest, good quality, cosy establishment such as this! The food was outstanding, the staff polite and efficient, we really cannot fault ye old dun cow... The most memorable starter was the fish pie (advertised under slightly different name) which was just succulent! The fish melts in your mouth, the decorative mash is just... More

We were in Rugeley and Lichfield doing some family history research and needed a base. The room was lovely with good sized en suite and comfy bed. Dined in restaurant both evenings and were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. Varied menu with a bargain two course for £9.95 also available. Relaxing breakfast with a full English... More

We had the good fortune to visit this pub for lunch, and believe me, it's the best food we have had in the area. The staff were very friendly and made us feel more than welcome, I would have liked to shake the hand of the chef, as the meal was so delicious, and for the price, excellent. Well done... More

This was my first ever visit to this restaurant and it was not a disappointment. Situated in Colton, near Rugeley it is not easy to find although it is sign-posted from the main road with lots of car parking. It was a lunchtime visit and although there is an extensive menu the lunchtime specials were very attractive at £12.95 for... More

Just a lunchtime visit , but will definitely return for a full meal! Timothy Taylor's beer excellent! Only had lunch from starters menu, but very tasty and good value ! Will be back to try the other beers on offer!

We only stayed at the Olde Dun Cow for one night and it was a Sunday - so no evening meal served there. A shame as I am sure it would have been great. Chris was very kind and considerate and couldn't have done more for us - we were on our bikes cycling from Wales to the Wash -... More

Having had good reports of the Dun Cow I decided to take my family there to celebrate my birthday. We were a party of nine and had a large table in a space at one end of the building, this was great as it gave a degree of privacy and enabled talk to flow across the table. Staff are young... More

No we didn't win. We were hungry and saw the sign for the Inn. It was a Saturday night at opening time. They squeezed us in although they were fully booked as we only wanted a main course. All the staff were so friendly and our meal, although not cheap, was absolutely delicious. Ingredients were all fresh and beautifully cooked.

Good choice of menus, very friendly accommodating staff, excellent starters and mains. Slightly disappointed with desserts but others would probably disagree. Ambience warm and welcoming. nice draft ales. Would go again. no shadow of doubt. Well done to all who work their.
