The Unicorn is back! Friendly welcoming landlord, very good chef. Generous portions at very reasonable price and very tasty too. The wine was surprisingly good at the price as well, so we will be dining there on a regular basis from now on.

Have been meaning to write this review for a while but haven't had chance. We dined here on mothers day as a bit of a last minute decision having never tried it before. We weren't disappointed - the staff were really friendly and the food nice and really reasonably priced. All of our party were happy with their food as... More

We just stopped by for a couple or three drinks mid-week as I'd never been, despite the fact that I've driben past it most days for the last 25 years! Very pleasant pub, a few locals, and has a low key TV in the background. I think I will bring her indoors back for lunch one weekend.

We arrived 20 minutes after they should have stopped serving lunches, but we're happy to make the three of us lunch. The welcome was warm, the landlord coming out to chat to us & the food was delicious & beautifully served. Totally recommend the Unicorn on all counts.

At last someone has taken over the Unicorn that knows about keeping ales. Draught Bass and Pedigree are both excellent and the lagers looked OK, I don't know about the food or the rooms, but if you are passing and fancy a decent pint, you wont be disappointed.

Didn't stay here, but had dinner rather than eat at our hotel down the road. Friendly welcome right from the start, good selection of drinks, had a really nice lasagne and chilli. Portions way too big for us but excellent value for money! Would recommend

I decided to take my wife out for dinner for Valentine's night and as The Unicorn is local and we had heard that there was a new landlord and landlady, we decided to give it a go. There was a special menu on for the night and it was first class! - Really good pub grub presented well and at... More

As a previous review says it does have potential but is let down by mildew over the bathroom tiles and damp up the walls. We had a family room in an adjacent cottage which could be great with a bit of money spent. The chef seems to act as receptionist waiter etc. We paid £7.50 each for breakfast which consisted... I stayed at the Unicorn for one night in September 2013. As I pulled up in my car, I thought "this looks good". It's a pleasant pub inside. I was shown to my room which was part of an annexe. My room was at the top of the stairs at the front. As we entered the annexe, it stank of... More
