I stayed at the Unicorn for one night in September 2013. As I pulled up in my car, I thought "this looks good". It's a pleasant pub inside. I was shown to my room which was part of an annexe. My room was at the top of the stairs at the front. As we entered the annexe, it stank of... More

We ate there tonight, the welcome was pleasant and the dining room decor and ambiance was reasonable although we were the first in there to eat. The 2 young staff were very pleasant and enthusiastic but obviously new to both the pub and the service industry. I'll not hold that against them as they obviously didn't know the menu but... More

We were attending a wedding in Newton Solney and the brides family had booked a room at the pub to host dinner for all the guests who were staying at the Mecure(another story) the night before. We arrived at 7pm, ordered drinks and were told that the kitchen was too busy to take our food order and that the waitress... More

We decided to visit here as a last minute option for tea one Thursday evening . We often drive past and comment as to how inviting the pub looks ..... Boy were we wrong :-( We were seated in the restaurant and given a menu by a very disinterested young girl . I think the menu had been stolen from... More

Didn't stay at the hotel but visited the pub restaurant for a meal Saturday night. The meal was lovely and the service was excellent. The gammon steak was really good as was the chicken kiev and the homemade chips were awesome. Special mention to our waitress who made us feel very welcome. Really enjoyed our visit.

Visited on a Sunday lunch as a party of 10 for a birthday only to find 2 other larger parties booked in at the same time. This included a larger party plus a table of 4 all crammed into the same room, not a good start as we had to rearrange chairs to make room for people to actually sit... More

I am writing this at the time of eating. We are Visiting for a Sunday lunch for my grandmothers birthday. Upon arrival it was rather busy (3 large parties including ourselves). We sat down at 2:20pm and we finally started to recieve our starters at bang on 3:20pm! An hour from sitting down to getting our starters is unacceptable. We... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights at the beginning of September. We were made extremely welcome by the owners and all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a double en-suite room which was in a converted old cottage. Very quaint, comfortable and quiet. There is plenty of parking for large parties. Also... More
