If you want a cheap stay in a town centre hotel, you could do a lot better and possibly a lot worse too. The decor was dismal, but the water was hot, the room a little shabby but spotlessly clean, the sheets crisp, the bed comfortable. Downtown Burton on Trent lacks charm and entertainment on a damp Sunday night in... More

I booked in as I simply needed something central at short notice. It was ok. The bed lining was nice and crisp and bed comfy. The carpet was dirty and old. The bathroom was freezing with no radiator and although clean the wash hand basin tap as lose almost faking off. The shower was the worst. Barely a trickle the... More

I was on my way back to Manchester Airport for my return journey home to South Africa. I needed inexpensive accommodation for a few nights and found The Grail Court Hotel. I had tried to get accommodation at other well advertised hotels only to find that the three nights I wanted a stay-over for, varied in price by night. The... More

Stayed at this large pub hotel for one night this week whilst on business. The only guests at this medieval themed hotel where myself and business colleague plus two homeless people sent from the council The room I was booked in was at the side of the busy main road with the old sash single glazed window which meant the noise... In response to your review, there was only one person from the council here who needed a place to stay for a night plus 7+ other paying customers. we take in council people every now and then as a helping the community scheme. As for the windows I'm sorry but there isn't a lot we can do about them we... More

My husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay whilst attending an engagement party at this hotel. We had a great time at the party and the room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was lovely and cooked to order with plenty of choices of cereals, juices etc. Overall a very nice place for money with all... More

Stayed for two nights with a mate for a weekend of walking and beer. Had a twin en-suite room. The public areas of the hotel are bonkers, somebody has decked the place out in King Arthur chic, think repro suits of armour, fake wood, shields and signs for "Arthur's bar" etc Now, none of this is bad but it is... Have stayed here 3 times now, and have not a single complaint. Quite the opposite in fact. Brian, the hotel manager absolutely makes you feel welcome. His hospitality is always fantastic. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great location and the place has a bit of character unlike the chain hotels you... More

It was central and not pricey. Clearly in need of updating but on a budget and centrally located one pays your money. The staff were friendly and helpful and it seemed to have guest who return. The breakfast was fine.

Had a fantastic stay with 9 of my brothers/family here. We had a really fun time! The staff really looked after us, especially the manager Brian. The food was fantastic and really well priced. I would 100% return again and would be more than happy to recommend it to friends and family. Thanks! :D

I was only staying in Burton for one night and I opted to stay here for two reasons, price and location. It was £45 for the room, a twin. I also had the option for someone to share the room with me for no additional cost. I wasn't expecting a lot looking at the reviews, and I am trying to... More
