Popped in for an evening meal. Beautiful evening so had it outside. Spectacular view. Food was fabulous and lovely service. Did not disappoint in any respect. Will be eating there again. It isn't the cheapest place I've eaten in but I thought it was worth every penny in terms of beautiful flavours

Have lived here for ages and we're so happy this lovely pub has finally fullfilled it's potential. Our Sunday lunch was genuinely delicious certified by a fussy 20 month old wolfing half of my meal. Staff and owners friendly, professional and we really hope they go from strength to strength. For those who don't live in the country you've no... More

Have lived in this area for many years, but had not visited this establishment before,we called for Sunday lunch which was very good, but must say a bit over the top price wise, when you consider other restaurants in the area, who's food is every bit as good but upto £4 cheaper for Sunday lunch,so as regular patrons of lunch... What they have done with this 17th century place so far is amazing! Quirky yet comfortable decor all round! Excellent large garden overlooking the river with numerous seating. The food was just lush! More choice from 6pm. I had the fish and chip dinner which was one of the best I've ever had! Cooked and presented to perfection! Great friendly... More

We were 15 people (all ages) celebrating my Dad's birthday and we couldn't have chosen better! This hotel is in a truly beautiful setting surrounded by trees, with a river (and ducks) and a humped bridge - picture-postcard, really. After lunch we sat outside in one of the wooden gazebos, so even though it was spotting with rain we were... More

I dined here with a friend on Wednesday afternoon and we were very impressed. We received a very warm welcome from Sandra and her team. We enjoyed a relaxing drink in their large garden by the side of the river, at times we forgot we were in Alton and felt more like we were on holiday. We browsed the menu... More

Lovely location and friendly service. We had 2 chicken dishes and a sausage and mash which were really good and fairly priced. However the burger tasted like it was from a roadside cafe disguised with blue cheese. It tasted pretty cheap and awful and was severely overpriced at £12.00. For that money I would have liked a homemade burger.

After a long day at Alton Towers my friend and I stopped off here with our two teenage boys. We were warmly welcomed into the bar which is decorated well. Having a quick view of the menu we soon decided to stay to eat, please note there is a large clear view window into the kitchen area from the car... More
