Not a pub-goer so can't comment on that part as have never used it, but sparsely aesthetic with cobbled yard 'garden'. The attached Bistro serves the best 'Full English' breakfast ever; the 'small' being more than enough for me if not others! They also do excellent 'lunches for a fiver', Mon- Fri, including yummy roasts with all trimmings [get there... More

We stayed here in December, what a find!! the room was clean and HUGE, the bathroom looked brand new it was that clean. the welcome from the staff and locals in the bar made our trip very memorable. the only criticism was the breakfast was too big. Half the amount would have been more than adequate

We recently spent 2 nights here as part if a group of 3 couples/families. We received a friendly welcome and immediately shown to our room. The room although not very big was perfectly functional and spotlessly clean - there is no wardrobe which may be a problem if you were staying for longer - however the hanging rail and coat... More

From the outside, this hotel doesn't actually look like much, but the rooms were actually very good, clean and modern. Good: - Friendly staff - Lively bar and crowd, food was good - Clean rooms, clean towels - Television in the rooms - Tea making facilities were good, choice of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with biscuits. - Heating, cozy... The room was small but comfy and clean. The bathroom was nice looked quite new. The walls are quite thin so u can hear your neighbours but not too loud. The building and village is very cute and quaint and the pub downstairs is lovely and social. I was told breakfast was at 7 but I tried entering up until... More

There isn't much to do in Wincanton. Stayed at the hotel as was attending a function also being held at the hotel. No obvious reception area but the hotel staff were very friendly. Allowed me to check into the hotel slightly earlier for no extra fee. There was plentiful parking. The breakfast was very good. The room was modern and... More

The greeting at check in was friendly and efficient and my room a single was clean. A comfortable single bed which was flanked by two pieces of huge furniture that made the room feel small and clutterd. The bath room was compact, it being a single room that was fine but there was a big issue with the plumbing. I... More

stayed for 1 night as we wanted to visit a retailer nearby the following morning. This hotel is reasonable if its for 1 or maximum 2 nights, but I guess you wouldn't want to stay any longer. The rooms, like the service, are functional. The thing that struck us was how dull & unremarkable Wincanton was, with little to recommend... More

Friendly and helpful service on check in. We were two couples and had adjoining rooms, one larger than the other, but both very comfy, with good beds. Lovely full English breakfast, and we also had the Sunday carvery, which was very good. Good value for money and would stay again. Busy on Saturday night when we returned and quite noisy,... More
