Stayed here for one night to break our journey. The welcome was friendly and the breakfast adequate - but - the room hadn't been prepared or cleaned properly. There were only two medium / small towels, only a used soap bar in the bathroom along with an empty bottle of shampoo, spiders webs on the bedside light and around the... More

Following a poor experience at the London Inn, we ended up in the West Somerset. What a contrast, warm friendly welcome, helpful staff and a lovely Sunday lunch. Yes a bit rough round the edges but when the food is good and the welcome is excellent, who cares!! Good food good value - thank you.

We wanted a basic, small portion pub lunch at a reasonable price. What we had was a delicious home made meal, freshly cooked and served. The batter (for our fish) had just been made and was brilliant (can you call batter brilliant?) Well we thoroughly enjoyed it so went back for the Thursday carvery and we were not disappointed. We... We went here for a Saturday evening meal,we were all happy with what we ordered, freshly cooked, homemade chips were delicious, a good range On the menu to choose from and nothing was too much trouble, so if in watchet give it a go, May not be a fancy pub in looks but the food certainly is

Three of us enjoyed a lovely supper prepared by the new cooks at the West Somerset Hotel. Portions were large and the food was tasty and obviously cooked with love! One slight problem was the wine which only came in tiny bottles from the bar...we got round this by buying a bottle of nice wine from the good old Co... More

We popped in to find out how good the new menu was and were very pleased with our meals. Enthusiasm is evident and the portions were enough to fill us and others!!! Great quality steak. Good service and friendly staff. It was a great pleasure to have home cooked proper chips. Thank you.

I have been in this pub a few times. It is comfortable and friendly. The staff are kind to the disabled and were content to let me take my fairly quiet dog in with me. We had lunch in there and were given a plateful of carvery food which was very palatable. I felt at home there. Locals go there... More

The dark, tatty interior is accompanied by the stench of sour beer-filled drip trays and a barmaid who files her nails whilst reading a magazine. Have I conjured up a clear picture? The brave amongst us sampled a beer - palatable but not an experience to be willingly repeated. The bravest among us would have ordered food. We,being cowards, simply left.
