Fabulous country house style accommodation in elegant gentleman's residence with gorgeous grounds. It felt like you were in Bermuda or some colonial outreach! The rooms are amazing, the breakfast sumptuous and the owner Roy was a most congenial host. This is a must for anyone passing through Somerton.

Met by several very interested swans as we walked to the front door, The Lynch is surrounded by beautiful gardens, topiary and some most unusual trees. We were warmly greeted and shown to our huge pink bedroom overlooking the back garden. Comfortable bed, gorgeous towels in the large bathroom, lovely toiletries, and a wonderfully eclectic selection of furniture and paintings... More

After 6 hours of driving on a wild goose chase (I'll explain if ever we meet I promise) we were determined not to further our drive by returning to London. A friend had recommended an eatery in Somerton which couldn't accomodate us staying the night and they in turn recommended The Lynch. We called and luckily a cancellaion freed up... More

I stayed at Lynch House as I was working in Somerton and I was so glad they had a room available for me. It really is a superb house with wonderful and intriguing decor and a beautiful garden. The staff and owners are very friendly and accommodating and genuinely want to make sure their guests are comfortable. After a long... More

Very nice place, nice people and calm and nice soundscape : I appreciated walking in the – large and beautifully maintained – garden and listening to the music of the water of the pond ! I also liked watching the landscape from the sort of belvedere or glass house at the top of the building.

We have stayed in this guest house seven or eight times. We often have occasion to visit this part of the West Country and when we do, it is always a relief to find that the Lynch has rooms available . The main house is an elegant 18th century building, with a fabulous staircase, and the breakfast room, hung with... More

There is so much to like about the Lynch that I felt I had to give it a 5 even though there were a few little niggles. The main house is beautiful and the epitome of an English Country house. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. Breakfast in the Orangerie was delightful with great toast and tasty marmalade.... More

I stay here on a regular basis for work. Roy and his team offer a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated, the grounds are absolutely stunning. Breakfast is gorgeous and Barbara makes the best scrambled eggs!

A lovely house full of beautiful furniture. Perfect for playing at being in a Jane Austen novel. The elegant staircase is lit during the day by a glass pavilion in the roof - don't miss a trip up there for breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Delightful gardens with mature trees and topiary. Our room, Edington, was spacious and pretty... More
