The Castle in Porlock is now a casual but stylish bar and bistro. I don’t like to see the closure of yet another traditional English pub but this place had been a bit of a dive for as many years as I can remember, and desperately needed something doing with it. I guess they can’t be expecting crowds of customers... More

We stayed at this hotel this month, August. I got the deal from Secret Escapes, which I have used in the past. But, unfortunately we were very disappointed with this deal. I paid £245 for .three nights with breakfast and we left after only staying for two - I think that says it all. The first breakfast we had, my... More

Miller's is a great example of a medium price chain doing things well. From the room(suitable for dogs), normal priced drinks and interesting decor, we really enjoyed our stay. Taking dogs on holiday usually means staying in rooms with a dog odour, not here. The room was clean, fresh and to be honest, impressive for the price we paid. The... More

Thought I had booked in the Millers on the Weir, didn't realise Millers had a new hotel in the town. Checked in the hotel - didn't like the room, luckily there was a better room available at a small supplement - we'll worth it - (room 14). Fantastic gin and tonics. The staff (a young girl who did everything -... More

This is a lovely hotel with some great character. we went on a living social deal. We were out into a cottage next door the room was comfortable and clean. The problem was the shower lead did not reach the holder it took us ages to get the plug out of the bath and there was a street lamp on... More

Stayed here early August. Found a deal on Groupon which was excellent. Our room was fantastic (room 14), spacious, modern, well decorated and comfortable with lovely bathroom facilities. The hotel was warm, welcoming and friendly and positioned perfectly for our weekend away.

As a special treat, I bought my husband and I a deal via Amazon local entitled 'Charismatic Somerset Coastal Break with Cream Tea' at the Miller's Bistro & Hotel.' In advance, to ensure our stay was special, I called ahead to book the weekend that coincided with our anniversary. I was told the only room available was a Superior, so... More

We stayed using a deal on the internet. We booked a double room for three nights. We arrived late at night after a long journey. The bar and breakfast areas are quite nice and very deceiving. It is the room that has the issues. We arrived in our room to find two single beds, we were so tired and late... More

Booked online and was upgraded to a "Superior" room with 4 poster bed. Arrived at 4pm, only a few parking spaces right outside so you reverse back out onto the main road. Guy at reception wanted payment of the balance before check in which was fair enough...He also commented on my parking as I parked my front bumper 2 inches... More
